For movies that have been published you should look for the encode in the actual publication ("Watch on (www.youtube.com)"), since the submission text is made by the author so it usually only contains his own encode.

Configure -> Configure hotkeys
or even
Configure -> Configure emulator -> Hotkeys
Maybe you should learn basic menu navigation before starting to TAS...

So the subject itself has been brought up by this thread.
My goal with this thread is to find games that use these uninitialized RAM values due to bad programming or because they expected a soft reset (some games put their game name in RAM and then do different things when they find that name in RAM on start-up).
As an example I used Super Mario All-Stars where SMB3 reads one of the uninitialized values and if that is 0x80 (so you basically have a 1/256 chance on a real SNES) allows you to change the powerup status when pressing select:

You can find all the commands you can write into that exec("...") in the manual.txt under 5 Internal commands (for example exec("save-movie hello.lsmv") or exec("take-screenshot picture.png")).
All the other commands for Lua are documented in the lua.pdf.

I agree that the bowser fight shouldn't be the publication screenshot.
The publication text correctly displays the features of the hack, but the screenshot shows nothing about "new graphics" or "creative and challenging level design".
(I changed it to say "overworld route")

Yeah so?
Guys, you are starting to sound as if judging would be the easiest job in the world.
Does anyone of you have a proof that this even works on console?
Is there a rule that says that there is a timelimit for a judge to judge stuff?
The judge is the one that has to take responsibility, so let him have his time to gather enough information about stuff.

I have a simple question, I read the whole thread but couldn't find an anwser : Is ACE needed to get the cloud, or is it getting the cloud that leads to ACE?
ACE is needed to get the cloud.
Since when?

Those of us on "warped" team (and most/all other SMW TASers) don't think that cloud should be in the TAS. So it won't be. Our TAS is still incredibly optimal and I don't see how this warrants the TAS getting an update. It may be getting (very small) update soon due to new strat, but it won't involve cloud.
Can you summarize the main reasons of why eating a Chargin' Chuck as small Mario should be forbidden in any category, but executes arbitrary code and game end glitch?

The glitch always jumps to open bus. The reason why the game can continue is just because it managed to get back to the normal code again, but the fact that it executed open bus makes it not different from the ACE run.
So you could say: "If you get the cloud you might as well get directly to the credits."

You press B to jump, A to spinjump, Y and X to run, left and right to move, down to duck and slide, up to look up and enter doors. R and L shoulder buttons to scroll the screen. Start to pause and Select to spawn an item (such as an orb or a cloud) from your itembox.

But they would also use the cloud only as an item - and that would be a different category, because it would avoid ACE.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but...
The sole use of the cloud already leads to ACE. In fact, when others commented that real time runners don't use ACE, I think they just refer to them using ACE but only able to input 1 byte of instruction before the game stops reading from the controller after 1 frame.
You're wrong. It doesn't.
