Taking the Genesis story completely literally is problematic because it contradicts almost everything that is known as, for all intents and purposes, facts by science. The most prominent one is that either the formation of the solar system as we know it today took several billions of years, or God created it in an instant and made it look like it's billions of years old using all possible ways of measuring it (for reasons unknown).
The story itself tells us about Adam who on the day he was born was commanded certain things, named animals, his wife, and ate fruit. Obviously he was born as an adult not as a baby. It stands to reason that at that point, the rest of the universe was in "adult form" too.

Obviously, God did not create the sun, moon and the stars for the purpose of providing light, but for some other reason (to indicate times and seasons).
It's not just obvious, it's explicit: "And God said: 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years;"

also some device (an hourglass?) that allowed the prophet to measure time (evening and morning, he writes) without the sun, moon or stars.
There was no prophet to measure time before a human was created, and by then, everything else was already in place for the first Shabbath. And we can safely assume God can measure time perfectly without any devices.
Indeed, that's also further there: "And God said: 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years;" Meaning there already was day and night, but now we're getting indicators for mankind. pirate_sephiroth: All these questions of yours are well covered by practically every commentary on the bible. Instead of just reading some version with the text itself, get a commentary which answers all these obvious questions.

Probably not. You're subconsciously thinking about so much more than you realize.

And The Matrix only took 136 minutes to produce! Right?
But that's output, this is source code.

It's a very nice wheel. The Mario running across anything and everything is a nice touch. Gotta stick Mario on my tires so he can run across the ground too.

Google is shutting down Code Search. This also means that our forum snippets like this search for printf implementations will no longer work: Google Search: printf.c

It would be really interesting to see if it was possible. I might vote Yes just for that.
I tested that out, but it didn't work, Sorry!
Maybe we need a faster hack then ;)

Judging by this TAS by Acmlm, it doesn't look like it's possible.
And that's the fastest route through the level?
I don't know. I figured he used the optimal route to finish in the fastest time possible.
We have a faster route in the current published run, which may be faster in that hack as well.

So I got one question left: is there anyone who like to see the warped walkathon get improved? My new SMB walkathon (warped) TAS which has only 2 levels remaining to be finished, has different strategy such as getting the mushroom in 4-1, gaining 21 frames in 4-2 due to new falling trick, and way better entertainment than my last walkathon.
I'd certainly like to see it.
HappyLee wrote:
If the warped walkathon movie is banned, people may never know how fast would SMB be completed without using B, and my unfinished movie will be a pity cause no one would have a chance to watch. So there's better be a way to deal with the warped walkathon right, what about we put a link more attracting just like the 16 stars route of Super Mario 64, so people new here could notice the warped walkathon as well? That's only my opinion, and I'd hear from the author Mars about his opinion here.
We can certainly link to a submission. If there's also enough demand, I'll revert my decision, and accept the new movie, and fix the obsoletion chains.

Anyway, a few days ago, I learned from a documentary about PIXAR's history that Steve financially supported the company while it was having money problems, allowing it to survive and become a hugely successful company. I respect Steve even more now. I'm sure John Lasseter and everyone at Pixar will miss him too.
He owned Pixar for a while, and was the largest shareholder at Disney. It was also that connection that allowed him to push Pixar and Disney content onto iTunes which paved the way for other content creators to join in.

The goal of this run is never push B. If the goal were never run, I would get a flower and kill bowsers in world1-7.
Glad to know it. Perhaps the branch needs to be renamed.

Disclaimer: I have not yet watched this run. I think that having one walkathon on the site is enough - the current warped run can be seen to largely be a subset of this run. Since this apparently improves on several of the levels that are identical in both runs, I think that if this run is accepted, it should obsolete the current walkathon.
That seems sensible, and I may consider that. I'd like to know everyone else's opinions.

Hi sgrunt, thanks for the publish. I compared your video files. Only MPlayer2 is able to play your 10bit444. Visually, I did not really notice a difference between the two. There is however another difference which was rather noticeable. The regular encode in MPlayer uses 5-10% CPU. In MPlayer2, 10-15%. The 10bit444 encode in MPlayer2 uses 35-40% CPU. The large overhead makes it unfeasible to play back these files with older hardware. Not until they optimize it more, if possible.

I'm wondering, how any people here stopped watching after the Bowser fight, without realizing the game goes on, and that Reznor is the final boss?

Well, if we were to judge in terms of coolness alone, I would have to go with Sonic. I still vehemently believe that Mario is a way better mascot than Sonic though, and that Mario literally stomps Sonic into total nothingness.
