If you don't have IPv6 support on your internet connection, then you won't be able to connect to that subdomain.

The link on the logo at the top of the forums still points to http://tasvideos.org/ . As well as the links to tasvideos.org, site faq, and forum rules at the top. The site faq link at http://ipv4.tasvideos.org/forum/faq.php also does it.

Good news. If you now attend via http://ipv4.tasvideos.org or http://ipv6.tasvideos.org, you will have a much more pleasant experience.
  • Forum login fixed.
  • Edit wiki page preview fixed.
  • All wiki links now properly generate links according to the prefix you chose.
There's still work to do to make the forum friendlier in this regard, but the site is now usable, and it should be much harder to encounter a rogue link.

<Guga> lolwut. <Guga> a longplay faster than a TAS???? <Guga> ??? <adelikat> what??? * Nach eats some fine Guga shoulder * Nach adds BBQ sauce <adelikat> that is worse than being beaten by a realtime speed run <Nach> adelikat: being eaten is worse <adelikat> not really <adelikat> you claim inhuman perfection and get beaten by someone trying to take a long time <turska> adelikat: so you'd rather be eaten than have your TAS beaten by a longplay? <adelikat> clearly <turska> well then, let's start preparations for the meal <adelikat> don't eat me bro!

Right below your post was a small text-only ad for some PID temperature controllers. So, no.
Sorry about that. Didn't see it because I have adblock installed everywhere. It's been turned off.

Considering that Microsoft discontinued their line of Windows Home Server a while ago, I kind of doubt Microsoft is paying me for this.

Of course there's the book. And if you haven't seen it, there's the videos. Intro: Link to video Family: Link to video Generations: Link to video Experts: Link to video The last one by far is the best. Even has the author of the book present for an interview. Oh, and these are the official encodes from Microsoft, which I got from them Jan 14 2008.

how would that work? who is “us”?
Link to video As to what we do, we currently have movie edit pages tied into our YouTube channel to automatically have that channel mirror the movie text and link back to it. Of course authors are encouraged to help keep the movie page text good. Edit: We also have automatic uploading to channels. We could allow for all uploads to be automatically copied to any sites/channels uploads checked off when uploading.

Seeing the holywar that rule has blown into on IRC, can we just allow the original author to host his run on his own YT channel if he wants and if it's properly encoded?
That won't allow integration into the site. If the author wants to allow us (limited) access to his account to automatically update titles and descriptions, that's another matter. The movie description can always link to the author's channel to say "If you liked this movie, here's some more videos by so and so". As for existing videos, we don't replace them, unless there's some kind of need. But to be clear, under the site license that people submit under, we can always reupload encodes anywhere fitting.

Once you put it on the site, you already did give permission to it.
of course I gave permission to it, but I don’t anymore, I don’t have the right to retract permission about how to use my work?
I take it you haven't actually read the Creative Commons license.

I am utterly in awe by the fight against Pluto. I never dreamed he could be beaten before he reached the ceiling. I also had to watch the reverse final shot 3 times - it was just that awesome.

On the main page news module, can we please get proper links behind the headlines? I tried middle-clicking the headline to open the post in a new tab, but since it's not actually a link, it didn't work.
I absolutely hate it when sites do that, especially using an a tag which doesn't actually go anywhere, and you get a new tab with JavaScript in it. I've gone around fixing such silliness in different parts of the site. I fixed it here too, and it should be live on the site soon. Thanks for the report.

Reviews are a neat idea. Is it possible to do a test run of such functionality?
You mean like flag selected posts as a good review, and have it appear in a feed under the movie? Perhaps I can offer something like that.

You can! Every single published movie has an associated discussion thread where you can post whatever kind of review you like.

Actually, now that I just got done with a really large project, I'm hoping I'll have the time to overhaul movie pages. Perhaps a more accessible and noticeable rating system will help. Edit: Get yourself into our top 30! http://tasvideos.org/rating.exe/my/
