Hey Acumenium are you actually bothering to read what I wrote or are you just skimming over the points again?
Heck, I'm not even the only one in this thread with issues about this thread's existence:
I'm just more in-depth about it.
Also "hostility" seriously?
Either make a valid point here about why you're for or against a massive list or just don't participate in the thread in the first place.
You're not a Publisher or an Encoder, you seriously lack the information.

I don't agree with this one's pointless nonsensical bump.
Minutes before this post:
Also adelikat already bet you to the punch and had a better explanation than a complaint.

Oh right. Author DM'd me this like 5 hours later it's probably important enough for the discussion of this movie that has glaring issues looking at the input alone:

I'm not here to give counseling so I'm just going to talk about the mash happy input that is-- your input.
This is just almost borderline RTA play with some TAS input thrown in to spice the pot up a bit, I'm not fixing this input cause it's too much to fix.
This is the tutorial level, or nine-ball done in a faster time on 2.6.1.

I disagree that complaining about something not being updated to modern resolutions (like majority of the publications) compared to something like melted encodes is counterproductive, especially when people are actually doing reencodes to begin with other TASes.
If they want to complain about it they might as well learn to be an encoder and learn how to encode every publication pre-2015. This is not something that we should be condoning. It's almost like bumping publications going "hey new encode please".

Decided to complete the comparison cause the author wasn't going to:
12 seconds IGT improvement 'cause of Meerkov killing input early.
However excluding that early input this is 10 seconds slower than Meerkov.
Edit: Also a Heavy Spike of somewhere between 7840 (cause blank input) to 7606 frames shaved off the author's input, it doesn't splice in Meerkov's work* and it completes the final level instead of ending input early.
Fun Fact: Author's TAS actually wasn't adjusted for 2.6.1. It'll sync up to 2.4.
*Don't want to splice in Meerkov's work especially with that 12 second lead you have on the previous TAS since it implies that the original input is suboptimal.

Yeah okay that's nice. Also calling me an "edgy 4chan troll" means that you don't have any actual counterpoints and all you can do is attempt to dish out insults.
Anyways. You want me to point out where you stuffed up your response without even trying? Actually I'm doing it anyways, moving the emphasis around for it..
You really got to stop using Pokemon as your example:
We don't play to the casual audience, bad attempt at trying to make a point again.
Also complain about moves in an actual TAS, once again you went to offsite works aka your own this time.
Call me when you actually can actually understand stuff as for now you dug yourself into a pit of complete uselessness, cause again:

Great to know you're full of it Acumenium and I don't have to take you seriously.
You fail to understand the concept of two contrasting colours on a spectrum, red and blue literal polar opposites used at a rapid fire in a long time span. Aka you proved my point right since I was on about colours that are not opposites, like every game.
No you don't get a redo on that, I'm honestly not responding to you after this. Your comments are baseless and have no valid point.
And you validated that point cause you couldn't argue it.

Frankly, your post is disturbing.
Hey remember the part where you brought up invalid games and comparisons and started complaining for no logical reasoning? Yeah I do too.

You're okaying everything because of [x] reasons presumably because you like the games.
Nah, I hate Ocarina of Time and your example for that TAS is quite laughable at how poor it is to people that do get motion sickness from watching someone else play.
Try Unfinished Swan or LocoRoco I heard and watched people get motion sickness by being a co-commentator.

But why not include more warnings?
Because your "warnings" are invalidated random string examples. You want one that might actually get an example after we figure out how to word it correctly?
Have a Publication that gained multiple complaints in the submission due to camera usage and is a valid issue that will soon get tagged: [1784] N64 Super Mario 64 "0 stars" by MICKEY_Vis11189, snark & ToT in 05:04.47Acumenium wrote:
If there's going to be incredibly rapid camera/screen shifting or flashing lights, try to, I don't know, have warnings?
Nice reminder that your examples were:
1. Not Published.
2. Were within the colour spectrum and actually wouldn't cause issues.
3. Dumb.
Anyways I can't be bothered reading what you wrote to feos, cause it's more of the same stupid invalidated stuff especially to an April Fools TAS, so I'll just jump to grabbing what you wrote in context and staring at how ridiculous you sound.
I'll also put emphasis on what part I'm staring at you on.

flashing lights (some Pokemon games, some parts of Zelda 2, etc.)
You do know battle animations is turned off in speedruns/TASes of Pokemon.
You do know it's a small section of a game in a battle that if the setting was turned on it's not even rapid, it's literally a good enough gap apart.
You do know when you encounter the trainer, the one that does give the flashing actually isn't strong.
You do realize how ridiculous you sound now right? No you don't? Ok, you're hissy fitting over a half-joking rejection on an April Fools TAS that was also done as a joke.
Get over it.

Point to a valid TAS next time when you're trying to make a point.
There's also a difference between a split second and several minutes worth of it.
Ocarina of Time which is somehow an example in what you wrote is barely an example cause of how mute it is.
Same for Mega Man, since it's not even giving you a seizure.
Come back with valid criticism if you're using these 3 games again.
Actually 4, Sonic falls under the "split second" as well.
If you want an example, but falls under emulation issues which means that it's invalid you could've pointed to DS Monkey Ball.

I'm just going to start my comment with what my benchmark comparison is.
#3556: Brandon's NES Super Mario Bros. "minimum button presses" in 05:48.04
The "true" lowest of the low, reduce everything about the game, all the inputs.
The difference between the one presented today and the one from 9 years ago is that the authors only restrict themselves from one input compared to the "original" from every input which one of the authors basically had improvements on it and nothing came out of it.
Just for tally sakes.
Brandon:
- A Held: 3684 Frames
- A Presses: 125 Presses.
This TAS:
- A Held: 2869 Frames
- A Presses: 62 Presses.
So yes it's an improvement in this area. But two things I would've preferred is it chased after the "minimal presses" run and improve on that or was submitted on April Fools where I don't have to take it seriously.
One of the authors came in going "hopefully our movie can surprise you", I was surprised... nine years ago. My vote on entertainment is sharing the same as it did nine years ago though. Meh Vote.
I will still say this was a good run and a concept, but I honestly don't think this is the one that should be published, I still think an improvement on the other one is more interesting.
But hey I'm going to be vastly outspoken in this field whilst everyone is going "Yes Vote" without considerations on a comparison.
