Now, I may not know much about racing games nor sitting down for ~2 months to TAS it out, but I do know about in-game time. Your Movie: Your Movie but the final turn is different: What's going on here?

You should seriously learn your own speedgame. You could've done a simple check out of curiosity and you didn't. Especially with the first level which has a good chunk of lag frames at the "Stage Completed" screen and you could've seen what pressing Start (or any button) would've done. None of this surprises me that you didn't. What surprises me is that you did this very method on your speedrun but didn't do it on your TAS. Like how? We can technically state that your speedrun is faster than this TAS at every "Stage Completed" screen.

At a "Stage Completed" screen you can hit Start to transition to the next screen sooner. Your input lets it play out. That's 238 frames. It may seem small, but there's 9 levels (excluding final). That's 2142 frames (00:35.64) improvement thanks to a free timeloss.

Deliberately overshooting input is deliberate, input fix for ending is here (11784 frames (03:16.08) saved from ending input earlier). Looking at the input, I have no idea what to say about this TAS. It leaves more questions than answers. When setting for the special move you're putting in more input than you should, it's 6 frames not 15 (actually 10 since the trailing 5 is ignored). So the execution is slower than it needs to be. What are the character differences, you didn't go into that. What's the advantages/disadvantages does this TAS have over 2 players, cause there's a lot of cleanup work that looks like it would've been alleviated by a second player.

I found a way around this by disabling those transformations entirely. Only problem is it requires the use of a game genie code which the game specifically forbids. Is there a possibility you guys can make an exception for this?

Fifth, Sixth and Seventh generation consoles all have the same specific function of disabling music in the game's menu. In some games (specifically 5/6th gen) this greatly saves a great deal of frames due to not loading the music. We only have 2 games where this case is used (to my knowledge), one for loading and the other for reducing lag (respectively ordered). [3157] PSX Tekken by Spikestuff in 01:38.92 [2952] NES Nobunaga's Ambition by CogneatoSwitch in 12:06.37 - Yes, 3rd Generation. Ignoring the tiers outright, not caring about anything in regards to "music is entertainment" and strictly focusing on just this factor alone going forward. Should disabling music specifically to improve the load times (not reducing lag) be allowed in future TASes and would it be a factor in the judge's comments? I will note that if the answer is Yes that this will open the flood gates of previous movies returning in the light with music disabled. This would be a very strong game changer. I wish for multiple Judges, as well as ex-Judges (if they want) to put in their thoughts about this please.

By any chance was this meant to be a userfile and not a submission? As for the movie this 07:58.01 fails to beat the existing TAS that's on NTSC in time. As for PAL vs NTSC iirc and a Judge can correct me on this. It's the 5th Generation of consoles where you have an option of choosing which version to use as the PAL version is accounted by this generation. However, this might be the rare case where the 3rd Generation can have a PAL > NTSC due to gameplay differences alone.

Submission notes don't equate to entertainment to the movie presented. After all it says "Did you find this movie entertaining?"

No it shouldn't. Masterjun is simply showcasing a TAS and providing in the submission for something that is of a chance to see where it would go. This is also something that would affect future TASes of the same method of going about it to games that feature this. This is a fairly important TAS much like many other TASes that had something groundbreaking. This isn't something that should be placed in the userfiles.

Future Note: PSX > Controller / Memcard Settings > Disable Player 2's controller and memory card. > Disable Player 1's memory card, change the controller. A question I have to ask about this is why wasn't the analog stick used as the game is compatible with it, wouldn't it help with sharper turns and cleaner movement? Otherwise this looks insanely well made for two first timers from what I've watched so far.

Is it a geg or an ace? (don't answer it) Personal preference of the "game end glitch" branch is the other movie. In comparison between that and this in terms of entertainment, even though this is under a second. I'm voting No. Also Gremlins 2 when?

On the topic of Luigi being used half (more like a third) of the time in the current warps movie it means we have a point of comparison. You aren't challenging Bisqwit's TAS from 04, you're also challenging Aglar & Andrewg. Shown off is 6-2, 6-3 and 7-1 all synced up on beginning of the level: Link to video This is a good opening of a TAS, however there's quite a bit of sloppiness shown. I do recommend using the user movies for future attempts until you've nailed down TASing this game confidently.

It's either: You deleted the video, which apparently isn't the case as you just stated. or: Your account is in violation of Terms of Service for the music you've used on other videos which accumulated over the time the more plausible thing.

This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated. I'm sorry. What? Going to channel reveals this: This account has been terminated due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's policy against spam, deceptive practices, and misleading content or other Terms of Service violations. Which he did mention in the description that he had to upload this encode onto googledrive due to the copyright song at the start. That encode still exists for those that are still looking for the encode: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nTBBOmht65hBXyFqtXpKYo1l191WKmlI/

Final input is extended for 348 frames more than it should be. Here's a fix dropping the time down (to 11:31.99) for the judge (or whatever the other role was) to replace.

Should've mentioned this back on 20th June but I honestly forgot. DSi is coming. More info about it can be read on these 4 links: http://melonds.kuribo64.net/comments.php?id=94 http://melonds.kuribo64.net/comments.php?id=96 http://melonds.kuribo64.net/comments.php?id=97 http://melonds.kuribo64.net/comments.php?id=99 The related source code can be found here: https://github.com/Arisotura/melonDS/tree/melonDSi Also to note, EZGames has quoted me on a feature request for a list of requirements needed for it to become a TASing emulator. https://github.com/Arisotura/melonDS/issues/463 melonDS also has functional OpenGL scaling for the people that don't want to see pixels around the screen at 2 times (or more) on 3D games. It even defeats our resident DeSmuME emulator in graphics and performance in this field. That has been released for some time now. Weakest point as people still point out is the sound quality, which personally I haven't had any issues with.

I'll do this only once as this is a major update in terms of performance to how it was initialized and what comes with it in terms of debugging features. Honestly great job Sour. https://github.com/SourMesen/Mesen-S/releases/tag/0.2.0 This release greatly improves accuracy, compatibility and adds support for some of the enhancement chips. The vast majority of (supported) SNES games should play without any issues - if you find problems in a game (freezes, graphical bugs, etc.), please report them! General • Greatly improved timing/accuracy for everything: CPU, PPU, SPC, DMA, etc. Including: ◦ Numerous PPU fixes - graphical issues have been fixed in several games. ◦ Freezes in several games have been fixed by improving the SPC emulation accuracy. • Support for games using the DSP-1/2/3/4 and ST010/ST011 enhancement chips. Note: A firmware is required for these - the emulator will ask for the firmware when loading a game that requires one. • Libretro support • Added a number of UI options (mute in background, etc.) and corrected a few UI problems. Debugging • SPC debugger window (along with breakpoints, watch, labels, etc.) • Sprite viewer • Lua scripting • Improved usability and added new features to tile/tilemap viewers • DMA channel filters for the event viewer • Misc. debugger features (break options, disassembly options, etc.) • Ability to log the SPC and DSP-n chips in the trace logger. • CC65/CA65 source code and symbols integration • Labels/comments in the disassembly view
