>Post Subject: Cause reviewing published movies is quite sad honestly. You're single handily, deliberately might I add, picking out the Vault TASes because you feel bad that they're underrated. Your voting style especially after publication holds no weight and it honestly means absolutely nothing. Especially with the "reviews" you come up with which mainly apply to Vault movies. Again to repeat myself from IRC. It's annoying to see posts from you in the Published movies section cause most of the time we publishes/encoders think "Oh no, what did we do wrong?" This is also an unnecessary year old bump you committed. Catch the movies when they're submissions, not when they're publications. Vote then, not later. Oh and about my movies specifically. I usually don't give two craps about my Vault TASes, especially if they are fighters. If you want me to give crap about my Vault TASes it's simple, it's the ones I put effort into (Tekken 3). Mappy and Suzuki Bakuhatsu. But I suggest not digging those up, it'll mean nothing from someone whose goal is to go through each Vault movie and give a late "review". Actually, if you want to do reviews how's about you get another page for your section or alternatively. Use the comment section on YouTube. Since the encodes gather more attention over there, than on the site.

I actually found this to be extremely entertaining. Well done! I especially liked the one-hit knockout move used in the run. Man, that explosion is so awesome. I voted yes.
Oh so you comment on the one with the lack of sound effects and not the more complete one in both music, effects and characters. Jesus. Voting Yes after publication is a waste of time. If you're going to vote, rate the movie instead.

Game: Dark Tales: From the Lost Soul Category: "all endings" System: Playstation Completed: 3/13 Userfile Link to video Link to video Link to video Don't worry. After the first ending of the 3 storylines it does get a bit faster. But you'll won't know this until it is submitted as I'm only showing the first time round through each story publicly.

Low rerecord count. Ok... Mashing input at the start. Oh lordy. Blank input at the end. Alright then. Now before I actually touch this game myself is majority of this input RTA input? Also isn't for this game in particular Genesis > SNES?

I tried disabling Controller 2 and Memory Card 2 in the PSX tab, not sure whether it was applied though
checks Nah, you didn't. It's fine tho. If the game has next to no RNG this should be an easy fix to make. You need to make sure you've disabled these before you start TASing the game. And iirc you were halfway through before attempting to do this.

Nah. The top link that's here under miscellaneous is better (and is well organized and timestamped) and also comes in French. So if we're going to link something that explains more to the front page of all places, when we actually already link to the welcome page for people have never signed in it'd be that. But since we actually link to the welcome page froom the index;

I'm not a fan of long drawn out score TASes so I voted No. However. I'm concerned by your King Hippo fight, as it ended in Round 2 and you weren't able to drag it out to the 3rd Round.

Improvements on every fight from the old TAS.
Link to Old TAS that you're referring to thanks. Also, you wrote King Hippo's score looks wrong. Might want to fix that. Nevermind it is 1550 points. And there goes 5136 frames of blank input: User movie #42644174955803311 So Judge replace it... I guess?

No means no. If your current encoding methods with that temp encode is using Pixel Pro it is wrong, and it should never be used.

Going through my stuff and I stumbled on this: Link to video This was made on the eve of Octoshock being in its first ever build if I remember correctly. (The reason why I'm sure is because before this is a video titled "-AN" which had an Octoshock audio glitch) I'm pretty sure this is also posted somewhere in the BizHawk area too.

The game is called Dark Tales: From the Lost Soul it's on the PS1. Exclusive to Japan I might add and I'm curious on what is being said during the FMV sequences of the game. https://www.mediafire.com/?dr2ibe3tbwcdq Provided in the mediafire link (shock horror, I'm not using MEGA) are all the FMVs appropriately named as well as a zipped bundle of all of them together. There is no Japanese subtitles during these FMV sequences to help out. It's only audio.

A TAS should aim for the fastest possible time for overall completion IMO, and not to try to satisfy (supposedly) incorrect in-game timers.
Your post holds no weight to it when the author actually mentions going for "max score" but doesn't do it. But he does a record. And now it's accepted so that's that. --- Actually. While I'm here making another post. I'm going to bring up something no one has brought up in this submission. Which kinda sucks, cause I wished someone else would've spotted it and made a comment on it.
Abuses programming errors for entertainment
This was only brought up once during the submission's game objectives, but wasn't expanded on what these errors were. What exactly are these errors? The game just looks like normal mashing with nothing else. Where is the entertainment that you said you provide when using these so called errors but not mentioning at all in detail on what they are? Seriously. What are these programming errors?

Doesn't aim for furthest/highest possible score (aka WR) and instead just goes for qualifying scores. Yeah, this is a very heavy No Vote. What you did was this but the difference (besides one's NES and has more events) is that you actually decided to submit instead. Similar to this TAS that's already in Vault, and you want to know a difference? It had more events. This is a no-go of a TAS and you should go back and do it again, and aim for the records, and actually make it entertaining.
Aims for maximum score without sacrificing Frames
This point is bullcrap btw. Maximum score implies beating all records, with the highest possible score that can be achieved. You didn't even try, instead you just threw up another Arcade TAS that you can get away with since no one uses MAME-RR but you.

Right out of the back of the gate we have 3854 frames of blank input. Issued further by holding Y for a long time, and I don't want to bother figuring out the reality on how many frames should be cut at the end. Held input and mashing is out of the gate, suggesting that time wasn't placed into actually doing a proper start up. I actually didn't load the TAS up to figure out the category. But what I can say with ease that it is slower than this beast: [2307] SNES Super Mario World "all 96 exits" by bahamete, kaizoman666 & Masterjun in 1:14:37.63 Your TAS has very clear problems from just looking at the input and being able to compare to a full "96 exit" TAS. For future use if you're planning on creating something but not submitting. We actually recommend uploading to here instead: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/my#uploadfile

Start of the year Delaying NPC Purchasing is a thing. Link to video This is a very helpful thing as it can assist on getting out of areas such as Tomb Town and Tyrannosaurus Wrecks as you're far away from the exit. (Even though a simple pause and exit would work too from memory. Haven't played the game in awhile, and never used the pause function.) Another thing that popped up at the start of the year is NPC Spacewalking. Link to video Speaking of Space. Reckon we can go to Space sooner? Nevermind, invisible barrier goes to the heavens. Also here's the rough route on any% Tomb Town: Link to video Last but not least this is a thing: Link to video

Why are you caring about the temp encode that has also been published? It's a temp encode. Who cares what resolution it's in. As long as you can watch it you shouldn't have any issues with it. Especially when it's native SNES.

>Wait X amount of time for the payoff >Cheat with a code I'll pick waiting X amount of time thanks, for the obvious reasons, it's not doing anything dodgy. Especially since we've had long waits appear before for different reasons.
