Here's this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpfQevx30W8 Kelp Forest backwards, discovered by itsPersonnal and I. Saves probably 3+ minutes...

I did indeed get 2:15:07, and my splits are included so you can see that there is still room for improvement. Sub 2:10 for sure, max is probably ~2:07. Hopefully I can upload it soon... I don't have internet at my house so I don't know when that will be, but it will be uploaded as soon as possible. Also, does anyone here know anything about the old record? I mean, itsPersonnal said it was 2:37, but was it also Single Segment?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9O6Qzu70BSg Here's video comparing the non-TAS run with our TAS so far with removed loads so you can get an idea of how much time has been saved so far.

Also here's this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ciyf7AtI7o Crazy Gadget M1 in 0:50.82. No bounce, and I beat DennisBalow by 7 seconds.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TD-dPV2HNDg I haven't tested, but I don't see why this wouldn't work on every other wall-with-a-ledge-thing-sticking-out-of-it. So I see a lot of potential time saved. Also here's a Security Hall M3 TAS in 12.70 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wF9V9wvMKYo It doesn't use the wall running, but itsPersonnal and I are redoing it now with the wall running. :P

Sorry voting no... It was definitely good for one of your first TASes, and I think it's a great idea for a category, but at the same time it's very improvable. I'm definitely looking forward to an optimized run, though. =)

Yeah 2 months, we found a few time savers... In all seriousness it's 182 frames ahead of our old TAS. And nice job on the 2 videos you uploaded btw, the plasma wallcrawl video is really helpful because we're planning to use that route in our TAS, so we can use that video for comparison. Also the flamethrower thing... weird find

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vb6vRoyLFTY I guess you could call this a WIP. It's a comparison of our newest TAS, our old TAS, mrspeedrun's TAS, and DDR's TAS. As you can see, our new one is a head by approximately 2 months. I just uploaded it to show that we're working on this again and are serious about making major progress over the next couple months. AND, as you can see, the hint system has been turned off, and the helmet has been kept on.

Voting no for obvious reasons. The idea is great and all, but if you're behind the published run by a whopping 4 in-game seconds at the end of the second level... It's not exactly something I want to see published. :/

So, that source that you linked to... does changing the value make every single load the same?

Yeah, so after talking on Skype, we've pointed out 2 or 3 levels that should be re-done, and a few small errors that can be easily corrected. I will get to hex editing all of that in asap, but for now, here's the .dsm as it stands if anyone's interested. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/420133466/mvdk.dsm

I didn't even notice that... Odd. I'll hex that in right away. I'm aware that starting a mini manually then turning around is the fastest way (I did it everywhere else throughout the TAS), and somehow I didn't do it there.

I know it's been a while since anyone's posted in this, but I started a TAS (all gold medals) of this game about five months ago, and got to 3-5. I haven't worked on it in a good 4 months and have since lost all motivation to continue, so I'm wondering if anyone here would be willing to help me finish it. I'll start working on it again, too. Anyway, here's a link to a WIP up until 3-5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXhWxVPTfBs I can upload the .dsm somewhere, or just send it over Skype or something if someone decides to help out (I really really really fucking hope so)

lol, I think any Mario Party minigame TASes are going to look like that since they're all pretty much the same thing. It's a very simple game to TAS. Maybe there are a few interesting minigames, but that's certainly not one of them

Thank you! I still haven't seen the damn thing. I will work on an HD encode starting tonight, but it can't be uploaded until the weekend. I don't know if someone else will have finished an encode by then.

Needs an encode, but just from the title/authors I'm voting yes!

Yes vote for a great improvement! :) I always love watching these SMAS: Lost Levels TASes. It looked tightly optimized and really well done overall. I thought you were some noob when I saw the double submission and the rerecord count, but it turns out that this was a great TAS

Sorry to say, but I'm voting no. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I don't think there's a point in this being published. Though it was entertaining (the ~8 seconds of it that was actually gameplay), it doesn't change the fact that the TAS itself was rather pointless. I would be looking forward to a full TAS of this game, but honestly... This is just as much of a joke to me as your April fools submission.

It just seems to me as though you just did what you thought was the fastest method without testing to see if there's a faster way. Also it seems that a large portion of the WIP so far was done not using frame advance, but just using Dolphin's slow speeds. In some cases, this isn't a problem, but usually doing everything on the first frame possible (rolls, etc.) is faster. It's clear that in some spots you did put effort into doing stuff on the first frame (14:43), but there really isn't any consistency. but despite the obvious (small) improvable parts of the TAS so far, it's been done really well. Definitely looking forward to seeing some of the more interesting sections of the run (It's gonna be a while, but CitS is gonna be annihilated) EDIT: by rolls, I mean the constant rolling, not the first roll. I'm pretty sure it is faster to wait a bit first, as people have said. :P
