During the weekend I was at a party. In his book shelf I found NHL 94 for genesis. I grabbed the cartridge and said to my friend that I also have this cart. He then goes nuts and yells "IT'S NOT HOCKEY!!! THATS FREAKIN NFL!! Bastards at the game shop tricked me!!". I said that it clearly stands NHL 94 on the label (it is the original label). He told me that it's the wrong label. He then gave the cartridge away to me. And I can confirm that it is NFL and NOT NHL. :) Is this a rare thing or has it occured alot?

if he got it from a rent store like blockbuster, it's clear that someone rented the game, than opened the cartridge and exchanged the actual game. :P everyone thinks of doing that, but i never did it, it's like stealing i dont do that heheheheh

The closest thing I did was when N64 came out and nobody could get it, I managed to get one. However, even if you could get one the challenge was then getting one of the games. I managed to rent Super Mario 64 from blockbuster, buying a copy in that time. I didn't want to get rid of my saved game, so switched the blockbuster label from the rented one to the one I owned. So the one I have is actually blockbuster's. Also I won Turok:Evolution on ebay and it came in a blockbuster case, heh. I like to think of ways how that guy got his hands on that.

Actually, one of our games was definately mislabeled back when we had an original NES. If I were to guess, Metroid was mislabeled or something, but I don't 100% trust my memory on that, only on the vague recollection that we had a game like that.

A long, long time ago, I bought a copy of Rad Racer for the NES from a local Toys"R"Us. I got a sealed Rad Racer box, a Rad Racer instruction booklet, and a Rad Racer label on the cartridge. When I put the game in my NES and turned it on, I got Rygar :)
