Sorry to start a new thread, but I thought this would be the most appropriate. I'm running gentoo, 2.6 kernel. Anyway, I un7zipped the source, chmoded -R a+wrx * in the directory, to make all file executable. When I run ./configure, I get an error saying:
configure: error: cannot run /bin/sh ./config.sub
When I tried running /bin/sh ./config.sub I got a bunch of errors, and eventually 2 errors point to line 83. Any help would be appreciated. Has anyone else had this problem?
Do not try to bend the spoon, that's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth. What Truth? There is nospoon. Then you will see it is not the spoon that changes, it is only yourself

The files have DOS line endings, you'll need to correct them. Here's the commands I used to get it to compile:
dos2unix config.sub
dos2unix config.guess
dos2unix configure
dos2unix missing
dos2unix depcomp
dos2unix mkinstalldirs
./configure
dos2unix Makefile

As long as you don't have any binaries lying around, it's easier to say dos2unix * .
