I thought my proposition is dedicated to minimize the infair use of rating powers. Let's say, I am a publisher and give everything 0-4 rating because of stupid things. But I have no tasing experience myself and my rates are insanely mood-dependent. My system would minimize my harm. Current can not. TAS experience IS a factor, and extremely important one. If you have solid formula suggestion to implement right now voice it or just repeat. It would also be good to try to consider mine, developing the whole thing.

This just needs some notes added to my formula, but what do you think about the concept compared to Aglar having the same weight as Velitha (nothing personal)?

I suggest the following calculation for a rate weight. (Player points + Postcount) / 1000. Round the fraction up to tenths. By this system, my rate weight is 1.6, and adelikat's is 8.5 hehe. If the numbers look too big, just fix the formula. But I believe it indicates both aspects of being involved into the art of TASing. Players know the technical stuff, posters understand entertainment.

It's all about how much action realy happens at once and how diverse it is. If you consider that and not you mood today, you would see what's really intertaining and valuable.

Very good and rather obvious idea. There shall be a checkbox turning emulator to input-toggling mode. Soemthing similar was supposed to be in BizHawks TAStudio, where it's not very good decision, but in old-school frame advance concept it's awesome.

I liked how it was done too, the game really offers a nice gameplay, similar to Contra, but another variation.

If ng_deblink loses something, encoding it not 100% perfectly, I really think it does much less damage to the whole thing. The most reason why tasblend is almost unwatchable for some people like myself is BG blending. When the screen scrolls fast it goes insane being blended. And ng_debling does cool jub with Sonic's complicated blink picture: Link to video I'm going to encode Gunstar Heroes and Megaman&Bass to see how it handles fire drawings and complicated twitching..

I think we need these guides updated: http://tasvideos.org/EncodingGuide/HighDefinition.html http://tasvideos.org/EncodingGuide/HybridEncodeScript.html Now as we have tasblend dated and obsoleted by ng_deblink (partial blending using blinkmask, the dream of early HD encoders), I suggest to replace the former with the latter (I'd even suggest reencoding blended runs). And 4:3 resizing seems to be done by YT better, because we can use 8x resize with H264 that gives insane filesaze reduction and cool look overall. Latest iteration of ng_deblink lies here: Post #314301 And here are the 2 plugins needed: http://code.google.com/p/feos-tas/source/browse/trunk/HD%20encode/mvtools2.dll http://code.google.com/p/feos-tas/source/browse/trunk/HD%20encode/mt_masktools-26.dll What do you think?

Would it look okay if I don't stretch NES encode to 4:3 with avs, but do it with youtube tag instead?

Have any of these people suggested interest in HourGlass or Dolphin TASs?
Do you mean having a submission for these platforms, or just being able to watch runs on them?

If you don't click 3D button. the video is just unwatchable. For me the encode from OP never loads, disables navigation, volume and quality. If you press that button and then press again to switch 3D off, the vid gets stretched horizontally to full width. Just try all these things.

It's always better to post WIPs in a Games section, where you shall create a thread for this game, if there's no one yet.

I watched it all. All 30 minutes! This is the second time I do that at all, the first was that glitched out SNES MegaMan movie. This means the game is really fantastic. Divine graphical style, cool music, dynamical gameplay. But the movie really looks sub-optimal. First thing to mention is that strange physics when you stop after each jump - but sometimes not. Then you go back or forward for no obvious reason in some places, like at entering the doors or turning the switches, or on the ladders. Also, if you are about to fall into a whole, you shall jump into it to get the most speed and reach the floor sooner (avoiding hitting corners, surely). Or these electric charges on the floor. When you go back a bit before it turns off, you can start moving right earlier and already have some acceleration right at the moment of it switching off, being just near it at this moment. Why did you kill so many enemies you could just jump over and ignore? So, this needs just some basic movement optimisation I believe. The rerecord count shows that too (if it's real). To make this optimisation you just need to run each level or just room several times in a row, trying to speed up everything you could miss at the first time. That method always ends up improving the things you didn't expect to improve. http://tasvideos.org/Guidelines.html http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/CommonTricks.html http://tasvideos.org/GenericTips.html EDIT: making a fast encode. No HD this time.

Kyman, which service do you prefer to download from? Torrents work pretty odd for me. The file is 63MB. Can you download from ifolder.ru?

No plugins at all. And this problem lasts for more than a year, during which I reinstalled the system and opera a couple of times.
