Author's comments and explanations:
Super Mario Allstars / Super Mario Bros. in 5:20 (Normal Quest)
Emulator:
- Snes9X v1.43+ v9 for Windows
- Use WIP1 Timing
- Allow Left+Right / Up+Down
- Volume Envelope Hight Reading
Explanation:
- Use Warps
- Abuse Programming Errors in the Game
- Walljump
- Jump into a solid object
- Take no Dammage
- Collect one Mushroom
- Collect one Fire Flower
Truncated: This is basically identical to Super Mario Bros. 1 for the NES, except that some tricks do not work (like erroneous warp-pointers). I see no need for such a movie, and I think the original game should be the obvious choice when TASing a game.
The votes seem to agree that this movie does not add anyhing meaningful to the site. Therefore this submission is rejected.
I would like to comment that it looks well played for the most part (one bonus room had me wondering though), so I encourage you to try your luck with some other game. You can get ideas from the forums or IRC.
