General info

  • Emulator used: VBA 1.72 Rerecording v19.3
  • Starts from a predefined save
  • Aims for shortest input time
  • Abuses programming errors
  • Enters AAIIMMX instead of MAXIM to play as Maxim

The movie improves Deign's published movie by 23 frames. 10 frames were saved in the name entry, 9 frames were saved from the route and 4 frames were saved from Dracula's Wraith. Maybe it's not so good an improved movie, but this is a new record nonetheless.

Improvements

Route changes

It seems that I saved some 3-6 frames before entering the machine tower. Some frames were gained from a faster way to enter the core chamber as well. Thus adjusting (sub-)pixel positions helped a lot.

Boss fight

It's just some luck manipultions there...

Credits

Thanks to every one who made TASing this movie reality, and some special thanks (related to this run the most) to:

Specially, pirate_sephiroth for the whole amazing route!

All previous authors for their contributions.

zggzdydp for his wonderful name entry as well as his help with boss fight test.

ljffdb2 for his constructive feedback.

Notes

IIRC, it's the 3rd/4th time I have asked judges to replace a submission file due to later improvements. Better to ask more people to watch my WIPs and completed runs before submissions next time.

adelikat: Replaced submission file at author's request. The new submission file is 3 frames faster.

mmbossman: It seems that the frame wars are over, at least for now. Accepting as an improvement to the published movie.
