Hello again. I've made a run through Ufouria, which is a very rare game no one ever played but me. I know I'm supposed to use the USA rom but since the game wasn't released in the USA, I don't think there is one. Anyway enjoy.
I just wish I had found a way to skip the ghost character. It takes forever to get him and you only really need him for about half a second to gain a few pixels in one jump! Arghh! Other than that, I'm quite satisfied with this run. I suppose I could speed it up a little by dying at two points (after getting the suction cups, and again after getting the key behind the armored guy), but I wouldn't gain enough time to justify the loss of coolness.

Hello, I had a look at this movie.
Please tell me what was hard in the making of this movie.
It doesn't look very impressive to me.
In the boss battles (it looks like) you wasted many seconds of time in each of them, because the enemy wasn't blinking continuously. There were relatively long periods of non-optimally used time in them.
In this movie, tell me, what is impossible (or practically too hard) for a trained player to achieve.
The movie is 30 minutes long, which is somewhat too long for a movie that looks like it's just a regular speedrun.
The emulator features (undo, slow speed) aren't there for only patching the lack of skills of the player. They are there because you are supposed to do things that are practically impossible for regular players to do.
Blublu responded:
In the boss battles I tried to not waste any time as much as I could. The thing is, the character takes a while to throw that ball/head thing, and there's absolutely no way to speed that up, ever. Also, sometimes it's just impossible to get a hit without waiting for about three hundred years (or so it seems). I especially hated the helecopter head boss, there's simply no way of killing him quickly (at least none that I found). I don't know, maybe I just suck at this game but I couldn't find a way to defeat the bosses faster.
Other than that, there wasn't anything 'hard' about making this, just time consuming and a little tricky at times. The jumps and things like that are optimized as much as I could. Also, I skipped a major item in the game. After getting the bombs, you're supposed to go get the special upgrade for the pink lizard, which freezes enemies enabling you to walk on them. That's how you're 'supposed' to get over those pits of lava before fighting the armored cat boss. It would be difficult (but not practically impossible) to do this in a speedrun without some more medicine (potions, I used one in that timeattack so I could kill the underwater boss faster).
Practically impossible, I guess it's 'practically impossible' to optimize the jumps and such so much, and kill the bosses so fast. But there's no gambling like in Zelda, and autofire is useless in this game because of how you kill enemies.
Anyway, I understand that this game isn't very vell suited for a timeattack so I won't be suprised if you reject it. Thanks for watching it though.

Bisqwit: As such, I want an opinion from other people than me or Blublu before deciding what to do with this movie.
Phil: On this thread <broken link> , the author say that he was able to do a 3 minute faster. So this one is rejected.
