Author's comments and explanations:
Paint by DS is a game where you paint stuff and play minigames. This run was heavily inspired by the Duck Hunt TAS, where like this submission, completes everything once before ending the movie.

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: DeSmuME_0.9.8_r4382
  • Turns shit into gold a masterpiece
  • Uses furry critters as instruments
  • Pixels
  • Intended as a vault submission

Comments

This TAS does once of each event in the game and clicks on the credits.

Stage by stage comments

Painting

Apparently, as long as the shape is around the same, the colors could be all messed up and it will still treat it as an amazing art piece. I used oil painting because I couldn't get the pencil/watercolor to work as fast.

Minigames

Color Memory

Nothing much to say here. You just pick the colors in the same order as shown 10 times in a row. Fun huh?

Hit & Error

This part, while seems incredibly easy to do, was one of the most annoying parts of the run because while I could've simply killed everything as early as possible for 99 points (max score btw), that would be boring, so I planned it and manipulated the game to get 99 points at the last enemy.

Puzzle

This is why I saved the painting I made - so I can show how the game uses it. Otherwise the game would simply load a random background.

Pixel Race

It's just a bunch of pixels. Who gives a crap.

Other comments

The game has no real ending, but you accepted the Duck Hunt TAS along with many other games without endings like Elevator Action, Donkey Kong, etc. So why not this?

BTW, the rerecord count isn't accurate as I did most of the painting and first minigame parts using programmer's notepad.
