About the Game
Pinky Xmas is a 2020 NES homebrew made by Axbakk Games. You play as Pinky the flamingo, who has to traverse through 5 levels and defeat a candy cane and evil Santa Claus to save Christmas.
About the TAS
I recently saw MrTASer's unfinished TAS of this game. Seeing this, I decided to make a full TAS. And what better month to do it in then... June?
Startup
This game is quick to load. We can start the game on frame 10.
Level 1
Short and straightforward, just like every Level 1. There's one part where we have to wait for a snowball to fall so we can jump over it. A quick turnaround to the present and it's on to Level 2.
Level 2
Again, short and straightforward. There's one or two parts where we have to fall that slow us down a little bit. After those parts we can climb to the present and advance to Boss 1.
Boss 1
Boss 1 is the candy cane. Five shots and he's dead. The technique we use here is to walk away from the boss and then, when we need to shoot, turn around for 1 frame. Then get the present behind the gate and it's on to Level 3.
Level 3
This is where we take things up a notch. Here there's another snowball to dodge and a tricky jump straight afterwards. Later on, there's a short climbing section. Two turnarounds lead us to the present, which leads us to Level 4.
Level 4
A lot of turnarounds and climbing here but otherwise nothing much to worry about. Jump down to the present and it's time for Level 5.
Level 5
A few tricky jumps and a couple turnarounds here, plus another snowball to dodge. Climb to the present and now it's time to face Boss 2 - the final screen.
Boss 2
Boss 2 is evil Santa Claus. 10 shots and he's dead. By abusing recovery frames, we can kill him in a matter of seconds. We abuse the quick shooting one more time and then drop down to the present. After the gate opens, we can collect the present and end input on frame 13643!
Thanks for reading. As usual, if you find any improvements, I will add you as a co-author.
EDIT:

nymx: Claiming for judging.

nymx: Good job on the this TAS. It pulls away from the WR, shy of 2 minutes cut.
Accepting to "Standard" for publication.

despoa: Processing...

nymx: Replacing with a 6 frame improvement.
