Has anyone successfully attempted to run Guano's m64 file in Mupen and get through it without desyncs? I tried both the gl64 and Jabo's graphics plugin, and actually Jabo's plugin got me further without desync. Still not off of Link's balcony though. The gl64 plugin desynced during the Navi/Deku Tree text at the very beginning. EDIT: Ah sorry, figured it out. Darn raw data was checked. grr.. Nice Deku Tree Guano!

Voted yes because the run is of the utmost TAS quality. I've watched it all from start to finish.

Guanos speed and patience is amazing! :)
I second that. I'm astounded he's already very near the end of a long game, especially with all the desync issues he's had to deal with. Thumbs up, Guano!

Nope, you've got to have rhythm for the magic to come.
Rofl. You guys are lowering my IQ by making me read your posts ;p Closer to on-topic: Guano, great job on Shadow.

Correct. As soon as you get the bow, pull out your instrument and play it till the magic comes.
Oh my GOSH. :p Is anyone else picking up on the way this thread is changing? haha.

If you stop sliding and backwalk that's probably the problem. I am under the impression you shouldn't be holding any particular direction while you slide, just leave the analog at neutral. Worth a shot?

Fantastic job, Guano! The bottle trick and King Dodongo fight were both very nice looking. You're really on a roll now!

I find it funny that this topic has the same number of pages as a similar topic in SDA :). @update, yea, using the save-state it desynchs, but using one of my custom save states, it works fine. I have not yet tried watching it from the beginning.
You know, I have noticed that I have yet to get a desync when loading my own save states on Guano's movie file. This is good news as since it seems to work well for us it may work for everyone (if you make your own save states while watching the movie, it won't desync when you start from them). Here's hoping!

I got the latest WIP to run all the way to the end with no desyncs (standing in fishing pond), looks good Guano. I loaded one of Guano's previously posted Spirit Temple saves, which luckily didn't cause it to desync.

May be a little early to be discussing submission status. In fact I remember Guano saying not too long ago that he was so frustrated with the desync issue he was almost ready to give up. ;( Let's just keep helping him and try to make progress. Most of us are just cheerleaders, true, but at least there are some knowlegable folks like mwl and AKA here to offer route help.

Hmm. I suppose we should ask GuanoBowl if he's in fact recording this movie with the raw input option or not. But yes, aside from that we can rule out the other possibilities as we're all using the proper plugin / raw data / read only settings and the same rom version.

I agree with you, Guano. This random desync crap is pissing me off, too. In fact so much so that I'm almost considering trying to join the development team on mupen so we can get some of this crap fixed (recordable resets, desyncs, etc).

Starting from Jabu would be nice if just the roll would save enough seconds, hope that works out! I'm still a bit concerned about the spirit temple owl desync. I'm trying to make a bunch of reference save states for this movie to put up in the thread here, and I'm not able to get the owl to fly away properly so link rolls toward the chest after the dialog is over instead of rolling backwards into the wall. I have tried creating a save state at the miniboss fight in the room just before this area and continually reloading, but the outcome for me is always the same. I'm not sure what is causing this problem and I'd like to find out - so if anyone who checks this thread has worked on Mupen or could offer an explanation for this behavior it would be appreciated.

Feature request: In the play movie dialog box, add a text field that accepts a frame number to start the movie on, and then have the movie start at the specified frame. I don't know how easy this would be, but it would be immensely beneficial on long TASes.

How can I fix the 2nd Owl Dialogue? It keeps making me roll backwards instead of rolling to the chest. I really dont want to do all of that over again.
Perhaps we should appeal to Nitsuja to look into this issue. If we have all experienced this desynch at certain times and yet not others (which many of us have) and we all have the correct settings, it could be an issue with the emulator internals not timing something properly.

GuanoBowl posted an updated WIP in his last post (he edited his post I think) which should fix this. This is exactly where it was desynching for everyone else, but this has been fixed in the latest version.

Ugh, yea. I really would have thought you'd have a lot more meseta at this point in the game than that. You're right about the thing in the air castle I think. It would be nice if there were a good place to level quickly without having to kill just one sandworm at a time. Well, at least I guess there would be if you were able to defeat Lashiec but I guess that's the problem! Ugh..
