I was wondering what you guys think about maybe running this game and what you think about how long it would take to complete it with our tools.

Uhm I dont know how or from where you began counting but I can confirm that Balbo is right. Its 9 frames faster and now I saw/understand this glitch :) Nice one. I simply stopped counting when Balbo and De's screen turned into black, De's screen began turning black from frame 47090 and Balbo 47081.

Thanks Maza :) Yeah that is true, we were so far ahead in the game when Shinryuu did that awesome discovery. Of course, both Bisqwit and DeHackEd tried hex-editing but it seems that its impossible to hex-edit Mega Man 4.

Thanks Kyrsimys, means a lot that you liked that :) But unfortunately, Bisqwit my Nemesis ^_^ found a part (<temporary obsolete image url removed by Bisqwit>) where I could improve by simply jumping earlier and sliding on that ladder... It will take a while to redo the whole stage :(
Maza, that is correct, I cannot jump to that platform without it.
Edit:
I feel soooo lucky and relief too say that I actually didnt lost any frames on that part, on the contrary, my current wip is one frame faster if I'd slide earlier on the ladder :)

Thanks. No, Kyrsimys did take damage during the oil part in his latest WIP but I managed to luck manipulate completely different during the last oil zone. It gave me the opportunity to jump down to kill the last enemy near the gate of FlameMan.

Okay I finally cleared the first stage, 26 frames faster than Kyrsimys latest WIP but oh boy how hard it was to get those 26 frames. It took my quite a while to fully figure out mega man's physics etc. I tested a lot of things, many different jumps due to how the stage is created and Im very satisfied with my WIP. This is really a great idea! 4-5 teams like Finland, Sweden, Canada, US and others should all do one TAS and submit it same time to see who is the winner :) But the problem is which game should the countries battle for? :) I have 0% experience of Secret of Mana so anything besides that would be better, or we could all go our separate ways and just keep in touch with each persons own team and do a TAS.

The question is: Who is up for this huge task? If this run will ever be done in the near future, it has to be done by someone who has the biggest patience in the world, someone who likes doing long games, someone maybe like spezzafer, flagitious, Acryte, nitsuja or TSA. But TSA doesnt have the patience to do a TAS for this game.

If anyone cares, Im honoured to announce that I will be working with Adelikat for this run. We will begin working the 12th of December and our hope is that we'll actually finish the run within a few weeks because after the 12th, we both dont have so much to do + I feel Im quite experienced now doing Mega Man games so I can roughly finish a stage in 5-6-7 hours + Adelikat is a good and experienced TAS'er. I will be doing the stages and he will handle the boss fights.
Note that Kyrsimys did a extremely well and excellent job on his run so dont expect any major improvement/s.

You're talking about Jacob Cannon right? If he decides not to break his own record because of the TAS than he is dumb as Red Scarlet. I totally respect the guy but how can you let a TAS affect your decision? They are not even in the same league. I've heard (wont mention any name) from several speedrunners who thought that when Red Scarlet gave up speedrunning Super Metroid because of Jecy, that it was a very stupid move and very lame. I second that and I absolutely have no understanding. There is absolutely no excuse. Hope Jacob hasnt got the Red Scarlet syndrome.

JXQ, you probably know this but from what I know, (got this info from SprintGod) when Sonic is in a loop, often it is faster to jump inside the loop to get out of it faster. Hope that made any sense.
