It shows a shortcut that I'm sure is possible but couldn't quite get to work (managed to do 2 wall-kicks from it and still couldn't quite land on the platform although there were 3 directions to hit, but then again I was using keyboard controls). It also shows a slightly faster way up the endless stairs to Bowser, (still not perfect since I wasn't lined up straight with it). I made the AVI mainly as a test of audio quality, in case you're wondering why the video isn't the greatest...

Its such a wonderful trick my man Shinryuu has discovered :) And I hope he will continue find these neat new tricks. Have not discussed this with DeHackEd but I think we should finish our run (we are currently at Cossack 3/Cossack 4) and later in the future include all new tricks. Im sure Shinryuu, finalfighter, Bisqwit and others will find new tricks when we are finished so I hope this post only encourages them. I admit that I was a bit pissed that I didnt think of this trick when I played Ring Man but after a while, I understood the greatness in the trick and wish Shinryuu can find more neat tricks. They are both far lower now. Holy Moly recorded a 18:18 and LeCoureur a 18:09. You should contact them. And if none of them is available Curtis Bright.

Check the file for an update. I've redone the run from the beginning up to the entrance of the slide room (where you jump into the princess portrait). Since it's closer than the Thwomp Fortress door I figured I might as well do it first.
Took a while to figure out how to do the bob-omb trick but I realized I needed to use a mouse for input and change the sensitivity to almost 0 so Mario won't move away from the gate when turning around.
There needs be a list of tricks made so I can use them in the run. Since I don't know of very many I'm kind of just running along as I make it.
btw the alpha2 version is much better...however the read-only option when playing back a movie doesn't let me jump to a position in the movie via savestate and ends up recording over it instead
You will create history if you manage to be the first one to make a TAS for a N64 game ^_^
