Angerfist, Im having just as hard time as you are trying to keep up with Kopernical's published movie. At the beginning, chooseing Rockman rom, i am 214 frames ahead. Then, after i did FinalFighters trick in the underground of the level, I should be more then 214 frames ahead, but, i am only 198 :|. so.. My idea is not to look at his movie anymore, and do it my style. and after every second, make sure i am still ahead.

You too? I did aswell assumed that you would be faster after using finalfighters trick, how freakin strange! Yeah I do use more or less your idea to look every second if Im ahead. I save each time I do a perfect slide so...

I sincerely appreciate your encouragement D. Very interesting facts you showed. Good to know you confirmed that I technically kill slightly faster or "blow up" as you wrote, Pharaoh Man, because I said, I really felt I did kill him faster than previous time. And YOU COMPLETELY read my mind regarding that it took longer for the game to award me with my new weapon. I was like: WTF? Why is it taking so long, I did not mention this because I thought it was part of the game. One last thing, knowing that kopernical kill Pharaoh Man closer to the center, I assumed that it does not matter where you stand, as long as you kill him fast as possible, and then stand on the center of the screen, which I did. I assume it does not matter where you stand for the final blow..? Depending on your answer D, My hope still lives until you have reached a verdict....

That was great thing you did D :) With your movie, you showed that maybe it is for the best that I give up (not that I mean or want peoples pity or sympathy) and let kopernical himself or other more experienced Megaman or someone better than me do this run. It was a very interesting video, Bisqwits concern was right about the start if I really hit the precise right frame to klick the start button, so there Im mabye 10-20 frames behind, though as you all saw, I was a bit faster during the sand area and also the second half of the entire stage. It felt as if my second jump was 1-2 frames slower even though I checked with frame counter and it showed that It was equal to jump at that point with sliding normally. Boss battle... hmmm really really thought that when I shaved another 10-11 frames I were according to my schedule; 1 second ahead of kopernical, but I guess D properly showed me wrong :D I hope someone else will give this run a try, because I sincerely had alot of fun doing this.

Instead of that extra shot, how about you use the shot that kills the monster to charge your Buster?

Again i repeat, It did not affect my time, frame unit, acceleration etc. Have you even seen my current run? Besides, with that missed shot, I don't think this site would vote no in any future completed megaman 4 run because of one insignificant missed shot.

Im both happy (thanks to DeHackEd) and a bit confused. With DeHackEd's suggestion, I was obviously forced to redo my Pharaoh Man battle and (If Im correct) managed to shave (was so obvious) off about 11 frames compared with mine and kopernicals final blow :D But the weird thing is, It seems that even though I managed to find a new faster way to give Pharaoh Man the final blow, Im 0,5 seconds or so behind kopernical?? If I remember correctly, I gave the final blow between 7516-7517 in my previous run, but here I managed to finish him off around at 7505. As I mentioned earlier, Windows media player is not the best reliable frame or time counter, so would someone be so kind to confirm if Im behind or faster than kopernical, I would be most delighted. Yes. The first place where I jump instead of sliding is 1-3 frames faster though mysteriously, the second place where I jump is equal with sliding and then falling in normally.. DeHackEd wrote:

Pharaoh Man level finally completed. I would have uploaded last night but I forgot to save in the end so I had to use my not so old backup file to start over from there. Or experiment a bit to see if you can actually shave off some frames, use finalfighters method around 0:47 seconds in the game and etc.

I havent done anything wrong to my knowledge. I copied the entire "proper" link, I certainly did not renamed the link or the file, I did not forgot to copy the last 20% of the link and etc. I copied before some week ago and it worked perfectly fine. At this moment, I *think* Im around 1 second faster than kopernical. I found out that jumping down in a hole is indeed faster then just sliding. Depending on your speed etc, jumping down in a hole is between 1-3 frames faster. I hope to finish Pharaoh Man stage tonight or tomorrow. Edit: The reason why I say *think* is that windows media player is not the most reliable time counter.

Alright lets get down to business. I did my first wall trick :D though I need your help on this. My aim (once I go through the wall) is to get a bit higher but I cannot seem to make it work... Anybody who can help me with this, because, if it works, then who knows how far megaman can go through the wall. here is my very tiny wall trick: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/53/Mega Man 4 (U).fcm And here is my current WIP: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/54/Mega Man 4 (U).fcm Note that the only difference here is that kopernical slides under the vampire robot while I kill it and immediately jump on the next plattform and gained between 5-10 frames using my method instead of sliding under it. And I tried many different approaches to make that vampire stand still but it is sofar unavoidable, he will come for you once you are near him. Edit: Hope the link works, because it looks awkward. Edit 2: I dont understand why I cannot copy and paste the entire link, cause Im doing it but somehow the last bit is not visible. What to do?

I was wondering one thing about the second stage of Pharaoh Man level. The scene after when you have gotten B, is it possible to use it going through walls by getting hit by the first or second vampire robot or any other of them? Edit: If its possible doing it by the very first vampire, maybe its possible to reach Pharaoh Man within seconds..

Scratch that last part. I will someday burn these babies to a dvd disc (once I've filled to 4,4gig or 2x 4,4gig). But I only have about 3 gig TAs's and Speedruns so there is a bit left. Of course I have a own folder for megaman, which includes rockman to the recent speedrun of MegamanX5 (dont like MegamanX8), Metroid Prime & Echoes and finally all the Zelda games. I love to show these videos (both TAS's and Speedruns) to my friends and my cousins, because I just loooooove to see their expressions ^_^ So far they have enjoyed watching mostly Rockman, Rockman2, TSA's OoT run and especially his final battle with Ganon and SprintGod's sonic run. I obviously explain to them the difference between TAS and Speedrun but they still enjoyed watching them.

Let me be the first one to be a bit negative for this run. When I saw this for the first time, yes it was extremely impressive and obviously, something completely different. But by recent years, my mind has stucked so much with speed and all that I could not completelly watch it for the third time... Dont get me wrong Dehacked, as everyone have said it, its a breathtaking run, but it does not "click" for me after viewing it for the third time.

Since I've covered basically bisqwits question regarding my current run and nobody seem to have any objections (?) I will go on with my run. Now I know what to do for the second part in Pharaoh Man level, though the question about B raises. Should I use it from here or not? There are 2 problems using it at this stage: 1. The ceiling is a bit tight to use B. 2. finalfighter could get out of that wall trick using "Wire" which I obviously dont have at this stage, so its more or less nothing I can do about it unless the Masterminds of this game can come up with something new that enables Megaman to get out of the wall.

It seems you pressed Start many times at the very beginning. Are you sure that the frame it actually reacted to your Start was the first possible frame it would react? Well according to my knowledge, I actually did. I did as you all said, used frame advance to try hit the start button soon as possible but I share your concern, because it might be the case that it seems Im 1-3 frames slow to hit the start button but I dont know how I could get those 1-3 frames (if thats even the case) because I pressed so many times the start button and retried so many times and even tried to pick Pharaoh Man faster but it seems (or its my own fault) as if fceu or the rom does not allow me to hit the start button or to pick pharaoh man faster.[/size] At frames 1740-1840, I was seeing some lag. Are you sure it's not eliminateable? Quite sure, and I think kopernical can confirm this. If im not mistaken, this lag is also obvious in his run, which is most probably caused by that annoying bee robot. When getting B, are you sure you couldn't slide over those 2-block wide pits? You mean those 3 blocks at the very near B? Good suggestion, I tried that just now, and I could not make it work, because either you need 2 slides on the second block or "adjust" your speed/slide before, though Im not even sure if that would even work. I was seeing 2 frame delays somewhere, but I can't be sure with the Windows version of FCEU. Ignore me if you are sure of this. I would check with Linux version but unfortunately I can't do that before I get back home (in two weeks). On this subject you are absolutely right. I wondered if someone could see if I "deliberately" delayed 1 frame in order to glide under those 2 sand scorpions :) Yepp, its deliberate and Im very sure that I did not delay anywhere unnecesseray, that Im 100% sure of.

Okey here is my second version for the first half of Pharaoh Man level. Certainly a big improvement compared with my first n00bish run. I really hope that I at least am equal (timewise) with kopernical. The only difference between mine and his run are that I slide under 2 sand scorpions which kopernicals terminates them in his run. Megaman "acted" awkward in some certain places, I mean in some spots, the autofire weapon did not work so I had to press the regular fire weapon (no big deal for me) and other "strange slides" occured.
