Hello! It's zee Fist again. I was bored so I figured I should try going all Concrete Shot route and this is what I have: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/20446625195677497 Interestingly, it's "only" 5 frames slower compared with my Rush Coil version. I do think however you could probably save around 5-10 frames from this recent Concrete Shot version.

creaothceann, feel free to watch a few episodes of Shigurui and you will understand what I am looking for. To be fair, Rurouni Kenshin compared with Shigurui is like comparing a sweet kitty with an astounding huge Tiger :D creaotheceann, please watch this at 10:52. The supreme leader of Kogan style Iwamoto Kogan asks his right wing guy Gonza about his opinion of who should be his successor of his property, wealth and ultimately to wed his daughter Mie. It's between Irako Seigen or Fujiki. Gonza replies Fujiki and Kogan shovs a sword in his mouth! Because he gave the wrong answer :D:D:D Gonza looked like the Joker afterwards (that's how ruthless they are in that story and yes he survived). A lot of other great examples in the series.

Thank you my dear friend for suggesting new interesting anime shows. Much obliged :) I got to say though, after your recommendation of Shigurui, not a single show afterwards has managed to caught my attention. When you recommended Shigurui 1-2 years ago, and after watching the whole thing, it was most definitely one of my greatest moments in life. In my opinion, no other show comes near visually, stylistically and storywise near it. Obviously everyone has their own opinion :) But never have I seen a show like Shigurui that managed to tell in such an extremely vicious, marvel and unique way a story. A story which luckily happens to be about my favorite genre and era. One of maaaaaany things I love about Shigurui is their pretty extensive explanation of a sword technique and how someone like Fujiki discovers on his own new techniques. The music.... my lord... Absolutely top notch. I am such a proud owner of my bluray version of Shigurui :) I even tried inspiring people at imdb so we could together kickstart the continuation of the show.. :( 'Cause as you know there are so many things that needs to be told. Such a shame they didn't conclude show-wise the story. The manga is pretty long and rich in story-telling. So if you or any other spot a future or perhaps an old show that I have missed similar to Shigurui, please let me know!

I am quite surprised. I mean you do not have to be a scientist for instance to optimize climbing ladders. What am I missing? The only possible explanation is due to loading times assuming your video was made in 2012? If you did it recently with our Dolphin version then agwawaf's idea was slower. Really interested how this turns out.

Here is version 2 using agwawaf's idea. I believe it's faster, haven't had time to check. This version also utilizes Got4n's 1 frame ladder zip but unfortunately again we are facing bad boss manipulation. Galaxy Man is flying way too high. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/20250404688289990 Edit: Just measured, in my first version using Concrete->Rush Coil->Concrete, the second gate began moving up at frame 24498. In this new smoother and sexier version, going with Rush Coil->Concrete, the gate began moving upwards at frame 24469. So that's a total gain of 29 frames using agwawaf's idea. Thank you sir!

Here comes a proud *Fist* ^_^ So I sat on my new solid chair, slightly depressed because of the situation with the freaking Magmas. I knew it wouldn't work squeezing through the gap. But I just had to verify it, just to be absolutely sure. Then all the sudden... IT FREAKING WORKED!!! I was so happy. AngerFist turned into HappyFist :D:D:D It felt so damn good. All that hard work paid off. So what I managed to do is to completely avoid waiting for any damn Magmas throughout the stage. Avoiding the second last Magma is sooo delicate that if I would have pressed one more frame or less the jump button or the fire button, you cannot pass the gap. I am completely exhausted.. I literally spent 7-8 hours straight last night tasing Magma Man. I took a short break only twice, one for dinner and one for stretching my body :) Anyway, I did basically two whole different versions. One version had it all but unfortunately, I had 2hp short of Concrete Shot for the final two lavas. I redid but this time, I fear it's too narrow to freeze the second last lava and fit through the gap. I will test further this section and hope I can manage freeze it a bit earlier to further open the gap. In case it won't work, I have already thought of how the route will turn out for a third version of Magma Man. I will edit this post later tonight with a completed stage (presumably without fighting Magma Man since I am quite tired). But it was fun tasing this stage. It's very easy zipping with Concrete Shot. I tried my best to squeeze myself into the wall at the first ladder where you use Concrete Shot to see what could happen, to no avail.

I thought I'd share this with everyone. Dolphin now supposedly supports 5.1 sound :) https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/1835 I think a 5.0 official release is coming quite soon so keep an eye for that.

You win Diggi :) Stylistically, your version looked much sexier. Good job and it's fantastic to know Concrete Man's pattern is now perfect. I will tackle Concrete Man if I find the time, otherwise you or Got4n may obviously finish him off. Cheers! Edit: I think I have figured out the route in Magma Man. Basically, boosting via C Shot isn't so beneficial compared with waiting for those lavas to go away. In the speedrun, I think he had to wait 1-2 instances before moving forward. It should be a no brainer to cancel a few C Shot boosts and freeze the remaining lavas. ExoSDA couldn't because he obviously had depleted his amo by that time.

I absolutely agree but the problem is we are tasing without sound to avoid desyncs. Diggi, the choice is up to you now my man. Like I said, feel free to redo the stage. When comparing Rush Coil version to a Rush Coil-less, I concluded the Rush Coil version was about 70-80 frames faster. Got4n did a Rush Coil less version whilst I did one using it. So if you feel like redoing, you could have a pretty easy trip mimicking a lot of my movements if you canot find faster strategies. The non-usasge of Rush Coil at 1:17 was slower by 2-3 frames by my testing. If you intend to redo the stage, enter your name in the beginning too.

I won't go too much debating the missed shots. But I'll say this, just because it's a tas does not mean you don't have the liberty to be spontaneous. Maybe next stage we will act completely differently. The viewer surely knows it was done on purpose as we do it several times. If you are still reluctant to accept this then feel free to redo those parts. Time is a luxury many don't have. Good run, easy yes vote. I found the Sonic parts the most entertaining ones. I didn't care much for the Tails sections as I found them a bit boring. Good job on the run!

Damn if I could get the same manipulation with Concrete man then it would be awesome. Feel free to improve my boss fight. What's peculiar in my boss fight is sometimes (2-3 times) I cannot shot at a certain frame even though it wasn't lagging. So that might be part of the answer to why you hear pauses between my shots other than the apparent "taking damage wait" sections. Yeah the wait for each hit is roughly 20 frames. The encode of Got4n is slightly choppy so there is that aswell. The part where you used Rush Coil at 1:17 should be slower. I tested that area a lot before establishing it's faster to not use Rush Coil. Much obliged by your feedback.

Clarification: I spent a good amount of time dealing with the boss (and other parts of the stage aswell). The game's RNG is stubborn like a donkey. It seems no matter what I do, I cannot manipulate the boss to do things my way. We have tried a lot of things. We went back and killed more enemies, less enemies in order to manipulate Concrete Man's pattern to no avail. However, I deliberately delayed hitting the second gate one frame later so he wouldn't do his long jump. So there is some window of opportunity for manipulation. I am quite proud how the boss battle went. I spent several days and good amount of rerecording doing the best out of this situation. It was overall definitely faster using Rush Coil. The missed shots in various ares are what we call aesthetic choices :D

I had same issuess. If you can afford a new good gaming keyboard, buy one (I recommend Razer Deathstalker, just bought it and it's quite sexy, smooth and most importantly supports 10 simultanous buttons pressing), it's worth it.
