Hai thair!
What's your favourite smartphone game? I think a lot of people like wordfeud but I installed Paladog a few days ago and I have played it non stop! Feels quite rewarding every time you uprade your Mana, Meat and your soldiers. Anyone who has played it will probably agree that Pinky the Dragon was a letdown. I expected more from him knowing he costs 300 000 gold units :( The wizards are the best.

I think it was Drewseph or someone else who discovered that bunny hopping. Nevertheless, that was very nice. It feels like when you are jumping like that, you are maintaing the speed of the dash. So it looks like we are getting more familiar how dashing could look (at least partially depending on the situation) in a tas.

No, you are not allowed to do that. Unless you have to clear the game once in order to play in hard mode (was a long time ago I played this game so I don't remember if hard mode is available from the beginning), then I think it's okay. Speaking of which, LpFaint99 has submitted a few patches regarding memory card. Check them out: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/source/list?name=GCMemcardFixes maybe they address your issue? If you are able, compile the latest dolphin and see what happens.

Edit: I disagree with Satoryu. Even if it could have been faster to use Zero in some places, his goal was very clear and consistent: Mega Man X5 as X.

Whats up with the Sound in that clip from dark noob? is he using a different version/game than what i am used to? For instance, I dont fully recognize the stages being that short and somewhat unrecognizable sound from the characters and other sounds.

Don't want to burst anyone's bubble but PSCX2 is far from ready to implement rerecording tools. Last I spoke with Ramapscx2, he said it is not deterministic, savestates aren't ready etc. Hey, I lobbied at team dolphin for more than a year to give us all the tools we need to start working on Wii, Gamecube and Wiiware games. Look at where Dolphin is at now. It's deterministic enough to avoid desyncs, savestates, loadstates, rerecording, tasinput, we have published Wiiware game (/s soon Diggidoyo's Bass run will be published) and rog's Murimasa run has currently recieved 18 yes votes and only 3 no votes. So if you feel motivated and hungry enough to do what I did, join team PSCX2's irc channel and choose your words and timing rightly and start "lobbying" :)

- Manipulation is in general way easier in 2D games. Ofcourse there are exceptions to the rule. Like Pokémon or OoS/OoA

You talk about angles, sidehopping, backflipping and slides for 3d games. In Super Metroid, the tasers have gone apeshit just to find subpixel frames just to improve extremely optimized current runs. Should Samus jump/shoot/morph/run on frame X while armpumping and whatnot just to find the perfect distance to get across a hole/activating speed booster/whatnot while Kraid is rubbing his belly?
There are hundreds of 2d games which are extremely hard to tas depending on your goal. Do you have any idea what Finalfighter, Shinryuu, Bisqwit and other people involved with Mega Man 1 and 2 did to find the known tricks and most importantly, FUBAR glitches? Did you know that they used a bot to investigate and it took months and millions of rerecords before they could determine something? Even in some cases, they didn't achieve what they wanted so they dissected the goddamn game (Mega Man 1)!

As far as I'm concerned, you didn't make any mistakes. You killed enemies pretty quick to get desired item drops, you performed the out of boundary trick at 12.20 instantly,killed the boss in the same manner. All in all, you had nice momentum.

I believe back in the days, Dega behaved similar to Dolphin. Think it was fixed and shouldn't at all be difficult to adjust. Good though that you pointed this minor issue out.

I vote yes. The act 7 boss fight was wicked sick :D The background and the music is superb. It's been great following all of your wips. Sure, there is a lot of running back and forth but a) there are a lot of worse runs That have been accepted and published, b) you do fight enemies pretty efficiently to make this look like a tas (especially the boss fights), c) I was not bothered much by all the running and d) this run is entertaining enough to vote yes.

bzb95 is the one that implemented the new TAS input and built a custom rev for me (with nitsuja's save-fixes). He's still working on it. The TAS input from the picture I posted was the first attempt. Since then, he's fixed the up/down issue, made it more space-friendly, and is beginning to implement the ability to click on the stick diagrams.

Edit: This rev is working great so far. I haven't TASed with Dolphin in months and everything has been extremely improved since then. Read-only is working great, as well as savestates. I haven't had one desync, and Dolphin isn't crashing at all either. I'm really really impressed with all the work that's been done since I last tried it. Even recording and playback in dual core is working for me!
I really hope MrGrunz is reading this because he asked for a tas input and how stable dolphin is. I am so glad to see that you feel dolphin is good enough to tas wii and gamecube games. Get on with your Sunshine any% or your Sonic tas! :P ^_^
