Another issue I have with encoding both the upper and lower screen is how squeezed the encode looks, just to make them fit with the encode. Labeling it as narrowed encode. This certainly doesn't feel right but it's the DS afterall.

Hey folks. If there exists already a similar topic, feel free to merge this one with it. So far, of all the runs I've seen (obviously not all published DS games), the bottom screen has been absolutely unnecessary to me. Provides basically zero information, entertainment and other important stuff to me as a viewer (I am sure there are games where the bottom screen is important). That being said, if there isn't any rule regarding encoding DS runs, shouldn't we mainly focus on only encoding the upper screen?

Kriole, not that it matters much but your version might be a few frames slower because you had to fire at them, thus creating extra lag?

I am confused. When did we ever create tases for money? You are here for the wrong reason. Tasing is a hobby. Which in this case, could mean that if somebody does work on a 100% run, there is no timeline to finish it. If it takes 5 or 10 years to reach completion, then so be it. Don't bring money to this issue, it never was or will ever be (unless mtv yo raps wants us to do a daily show about tasing).

I don't understand much what you are saying. 500 rerecords is nothing to be honest. I would spend those rerecords finding the fastest way of getting through the menu selection at start.

Lets say Mr Grunz decides to do a 100% run. If I could somehow persuade zeromus or someone else very knowledgable to fix the reset problem in Mupen, would you (= zelda experts) then be willing to gather around and try to establish a route for a 100% run?

Sonik, the thing about autoscroller stages is that Fatratknight did an excellent work as he synched his moves with the music. If you have the motivation to do that, that would be a huge bonus. Thanks for the link (I haven't watched it yet and I hope it's one of those free links where you aren't required to register). I have "lobbied" for years (true story) for someone to work on an any% and 100% run to no avail. Sure, some started a bit but all of them couldn't for various reasons go through with the whole run and as it looks now, we will most likely wait years before someone really gives this a real shot.

FODA, ask him why he picked Cody. Everyone loves Haggar infinitely more! Why can't I hear the sound effect of when Cody hits the enemies? Is it because the author is pressing so quick the hit button? I would be nice if we could see some more variety in the hitting of enemies.

Upon further thinking, I will vote no this time. The game doesn't seemingly present any real challenge to the author. Another factor is, it isn't entertaining enough to vote yes in my opinion.

I am giving this a very weak yes vote. I think I expected a bit more but I guess the physics of the main character doesn't allow you to explore and do much.
