I acknowledge that you aimed for fastest time. You used deaths to achieve that. I am saying that doing that affected the entertainment. Many runs use death as a shortcut. Often, visually they are appeasing to the viewers. In my opinion, in this case, that is not the case. Entertainment and speed are intertwined into each other, remember that.

Basically, I am against using deaths in this game. Like I said to Atma, it affects the entertainment in a negative way. Anyway, I look forward to any future Metal Slug X runs from you. I've said this a few times before, I would have gladly improved my own run if it weren't for shitty Finalburn Alpha. Even I have to draw the line when it comes to having patience for an emulator.

I have to unfortunately disagree. A tremendous amount of tases are real-time oriented. It has more or less been Tasvideos motto to always aim for real time. This is our nature :) In my personal opinion, I really dislike abusing extensively the pause button since it takes away the momentum and action of the game. But I do understand and recognize the purpose of the pause abuse in this game.

Behold, a few years since the last post, it's time to revive this thread. The best way to do it is by presenting MilesSMB's earth-shattering recent world record run of Prime 2 101% run: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnYz7GwRbqo The second half of the run really picks up the pace. Everything goes faster. It's like Miles was getting warmed up in the first half of his run :) What makes this run incredibly poetic is that he smashed sparky's old segmented 2:25 record in a single segment (1:56)! Now that's impressive! Congratulations to Miles. I asked him if he would consider tasing this lovely game and he was a bit sceptical about it, but we'll see. He said he would most definitely help anyone tasing this game. Now when I saw his recent tas, I began imagining how crazy a tas would look like. Imagine every turn, morphing/unmorphing, pre-selecting weapons, instant-shooting a door via unmorphing and shooting at the same time. Ladies and gentlemen, only this should at least save 1-2 minutes in a 100% run. Maybe 1 minute in an any% run (comparing with a speedrun). I hope someone brave (Miles :P) comes forth and commence tasing! Edit: Lol at my prediction for a 100% run 2-3 posts above, which was made a few years ago.. :)

I definitely vote no on this run. I do not like at all that you could obtain almost all weapons via som obscure button pressing. JXQ prettty much summarized my thoughts:

That was the first Wario game I enjoyed seeing and getting tas treatment. I hope team Dolphin fixes the bugs asap so you can continue. But hey, don't you have that Sonic GameCube game to tas? :P

I love arcade games :) While the sliding was a bit repetitive, I pretty much enjoyed this run. Yes vote. Thanks for the encode but if this gets accepted, I hope the sound in the encode will be better.

Basically all essential tools are now available and "should" be working for Dolphin. The site managers wants us to go ahead and start tasing VC/GCC/Wii games. Whenever someone finishes a tas, dolphin will then automatically be officially accepted as a tas emulator for this site. Mothrayas and I will start tasing Mega Man 10 once Dolphin v 3.0 is released which should not take too long. Lets get started gents!

The biggest question is: WHO will tas this beautiful game? :) I think there are a lot of minor tricks to be discovered via tasing. Maybe someone will find a new faster way to travel ala link in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask :) Since I absolutely love this game, I would like to see the cutscenes (who can dislike the Ridley cutscene where it flies over Phendrana :D). Also, the cutscenes don't take long to watch compared with Metroid Other M. They are pretty short.

Uhm, I hope everyone who is interested in this lovely emulator has followed the latest development. I mean I can't believe we are there.. I've "lobbied" at team dolphin-emu for about more than a year and finally my dream is coming into reality. For instance, frame counter, free mapping ofhotkeys for almost all commands, wii input recording, better savestates and rerecording have been added.. the end is very near :)

This is truly wonderful news. Glad that both ToadKing and DarkKobold managed to replay your file grunt. A new official version should be released within 1-2 months (just an estimate). Before that, they want to make sure save stating fully works, remove all (if any by now) code from the various merges and some other minor things. Then, I would seriously recommend all tasers to download dolphin and start tasing?... :)
