You are correct my friend. wwmarx and I will be working together. We (mostly him and his friend) have discovered lost of new shortcuts and improvements. I think the new movie will look completely different and much much shorter. We were actually waiting for pcc to recommend which dega version to use but since he hasnt replied, we shall take the liberty and use the Mame version. See you soon.

Posting to emphasize how much I look forward if/when one day, we can tas snes games using this highly accurate emulator :) I definitely think everyone should abandon snes9x once this emulator is fully ready for TAS purposes. I mean no disrespect to the snes9x team but with all the little things you have enable/disable, minor problems here and there, I think its perfectly natural to go with an emulator that is far more stable.

Yes but he was influenced by the discussion of doing a 2-player run and that is why he cancelled it. Since then (a year ago?), he hasnt posted nor shown up so its pretty unlikely that he will return and even make a 2-player movie (I hope I'm wrong).

Is it possible to revive this submission? Seeing as nobody has even remotely indicated doing a 2-player run, I definitely think that this deserves a second chance and even publication. If a 2-player run is ever made and is more entertaining and faster, then it can by all means obsolete this movie.

This idea sounds a bit too extreme and a bit weird. I think there is absolutely no rush at all obsoleting those videos. You don't want to literally erase everything that was associated with our previous great leader. Have a sense of compassion. I am out of this thread.

So apparently I was more or less forced by general consensus by judges to do a 2-player run if I wanted to avoid rejection. I am hugely offended by this but thats not the point, seems like my keyboard cannot handle multiple input at the same time (for instance, sometimes I have to shoot horizontal while holding left + right + jump + fire button + frame advance = controlling 2 players, which my keyboard cannot handle) so I have no chance of doing a 2 player run. I was progressing nicely with my 1-player run but no point in continuing that now.

I think I've located a bug. If Finalburn Alpha starts paused, and if you hit the frame advance button, it will crash for me. But if its unpaused at the beginning and afterwards when you press frame advance, it works normally.

Thanks Paused & Derakon. I guess my main goal is an any% run/fastest completion using "only" one player. I would've loved start working today but I keep getting this message even though I have tried using different ROM's :( "mslugx.zip was found (roms\mslugx.zip). neogeo.zip was found (roms\neogeo.zip). Ladies and gentleman, I strongly belive that we are soon gonna get all the necessary tools to start tasing Gamecube and Wii games! :) After several months of soft light tickling from yours truly at #dolphin-emu, XK (XtraKrazy) one of the main coders for Dolphin decided to seriously begin helping us. And last night, he began committing. Oh man I am beginning to fall in love with these type of arcade runs. This was highly an entertaining performance. I enjoyed every bit of it. It had everything; speed, variation, entertainment and lots of funny moments. Super easy yes vote! Cheers mate ^_^

Alright, here are my suggestions for anyone who plan to tas this beautiful game. 1. Never walk as walking is the slowest method of travelling. 2. Before each room, position your body correctly for a perfect scan dash. 3. Before each room, it should be faster to step a few steps back in order to pass the gate with full speed. 4. Before each room, in morphball mode, it should be faster to do what I wrote above. 5. Before each room, in morphball mode + boost, it might be faster to actually stand a bit away from the gate and then boost when it eventually opens. I would shit my pants if one could boost for a longer period of time that the camera wont be able to catch up, just like in our Sonic movies :) 6. You have to scan dash from every creature and item possible as that is the fastest travelling method. Well infinite speed is faster but it takes too long setting it up. Some amazing features can be produced in a tas using this method. For instance, there is a room (can't remember the name) in Phazon Mines, there is a room filled with baby metroids, if you kill one or two of them and position yourself for a scandash, you will save a lot of seconds instead of jumping on the platforms. This is just one example as there are lots of others. 7. I belive you should try avoid getting hit (luck manipulation) as your missile stack is rather important. 8. If possible, try prefiring at a gate so that once you are near it, you don't have to unmorph, shoot it and then morph back. 9. You can boost up on some ledges, so you don't have to unmorph and morph back. 10. Investigate if charging is faster than firing single bullets at enemies and bosses. More will surely come..
