Great discoveries MrGrunz. If we can skip all boss keys, does that warrant a new category? Because I fear we would skip a lot areas. Or maybe a "skips-all-boss-keys" run should be considered as an any% whilst a 100% run could get all the boss keys.

I think this is by far my most happiest day here at tasvideos :) This is absolutely huuuuuge! I bet the rerecording isn't robust and ready but it is there and that's what is important. I've asked Bisqwit to create an own game section for Gamecube/Wii so we can start discussing TASes ^_^

DarkKobold, If you were the one who helped me explain a lot better at the wiki, then I am very thankful :P Anyway, literally everyday, team dolphin is working their butt off to give us a stable emulator. Like they post an update for revision 2069, and two days later, I see 50-60 revisions created :D Determined, thats what they are. <+nakee> AngerFist: why don't you guys get few programmers to join your team? <shuffle2> yeah it would be easier if that tas group just sent emus their patches :p <+nakee> AngerFist: actually if you had some nice portable framework that emus just had to plug into it would have been 10 times easier <+nakee> like already have recording and convertion guis <+nakee> and all the codec code and stuff Can I/we address this? mega man 3, I think you are lying. Lying in regards of implying (that is the impression I got) that you have improved Shinryuu's published run. Yes, you have discovered a few minor things, but like lottery, you can sometimes be lucky and win. Even if I am wrong, this whole "I-can't-find my-WIPlink", teasing us with your post, working on Mega Man 4, Mega Man 6 (and Mega Man 5?) still makes you an untrustworthy and unreliable person. Because you haven't provided a single WIP. Edit: Xkeeper, yeah I agree. I thought back and forth if I should post or not, but in the end, I just couldn't hold myself :)

I used to play this game when I was a lot younger and enjoyed it a lot. The music is pretty nice. I thought it was too easy so I always thought if there was some secret ending or planet. About the Laser thing, I think as long as you grab all the weapons and show variety, your movie's entertainment value should remain pretty high. Anyway, I really look forward to this and wish you the best!

Last night was an exciting evening :) I spoke with several developers and one of the head developer of Dolphin. They recommended me to create an issue on their google code website: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=502&q=tas When you normally ask a developer for a somewhat tedious feature to implement, you usually get the answer: "yeah, we'll see..". But these guys began discussing immediately with eachother how they are supposed make bulletproof rerecording, savestates etc. So I certainly think their intention and desire to give us essential tasing tools are there! Anyway, the purpose of this thread was to give the google link so that those who are interested can follow any activity regarding our submitted issue. I will follow and read on a daily basis every revision they make.

Cpadolf There are a few authors such as Mister, Phil, ElectroSpecter, Deign etc who produced strong runs. But basically all of them did not create more than 2 SNES runs in 2008. Hold your horses. I hardly think Dolphin will have issues running Mega Man 9 at full speed since its a simple (NES-ish) game. Now for games like Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, that'll take a while, but it shouldn't be the case for Mega Man 9.
