What the man said. Dont you dare make fun of Super Castlevania 4! But seriously, the music in Super Castlevania 4 is one of the best I have ever heard for SNES along with Super Metroid. Anyway, your run was nicely executed. Voting yes.

In Star Man, did you test if it is faster/slower to kill the last enemy before the boss fight with a charged shot instead of jumping over it? I know it takes time to charge your beam for the upcoming boss fight but you can start the fight with a single normal shot and then blast him with charged ones.

At 03:04, did you delibrately fall down because I see no reason why you did that.
04:20ish was a really funny moment :)
I did not understand what happened at around 06:02. World 1-A was the most entertaining, albeit difficult part of the game.
Edit: Too bad you have to wait for the turtle at various parts. because in my opinion, that completely messes with your momentum and with the entertainment.

There is no way we can tell for sure if it saves time because you need to do two fully optimized versions and see if its faster at all to pick up a second boomerang.
I am. The amount of time and luck manipulation it takes to collect at least 8 arrows is not worth it. Keep in mind that this assumes these 8 arrows does the maximum of 8HP damage, which is pretty impossible (unless you can dissect the game/this particular boss and see if all of your arrows can do 8HP damage) knowing how the bosses HP pattern works.
Maybe.
No.
Yes we did but we could not manipulate from the enemies to get a boomerang.

JXQ, your list is beginning to look better and better my man :) By the way, when do you want/think the voting to get started? Before 2008 or after? Maybe its better to do this like in january or february. Also, maybe a final category could be Best TAS of 2007. I was thinking this category would show up after when the voters have voted on which run on each system they considered to be the best and then put the winners on each system in a final poll for the Best TAS of 2007 (Im sorry if that did not make sense, Im so tired these days ^_^). What do you think?
Edit: I am really looking forward to see who wins the best rookie award because all of them are really good! :)
Edit 2: May I suggest adding Fractalfusion, Arne The Great, Samhain-Grim, Parrot14green and yourself for the SNES TASers of 2007.
-''- Rikku to the N64 TASers of 2007.
-''- Nitsuja to the Genesis TASers of 2007.
-''- Phil to the NES TASers of 2007 (his involvement in the zelda and castlevania run made me think of him).
About Overall TASers of 2007, maybe we can do the same as I suggested earlier for Best TAS of 2007? Also, I can offer sticky the voting thread if its needed.

I would nominate nitsujas Sonic 3 % Knuckles run to Glitchy TASes of 2007. I would also like to see these categories: Best TASer of 2007, Best rookie of 2007 and maybe best runs for each console.
Edit: Alden suggested that we should call this The Tazzie Awards :)

I have always supported TASvideos awards and I definitely think there are lots of people interested in this. Your idea + best runs for each console and most entertaining run for each console. I think that would be sufficient as I dont think we need more categories (remember how it went last time? :( )
Edit: Im so sorry for editing your post JXQ, it was a terrible mistake by me :) (sticky icky fingers).

I love adelikat and everyone who takes their free time and encode the runs but this must be said. Recently, basically all the new encoded runs suffers from noticable poor sound quality. For instance, if you compare Bisqwits encoding of Chip n Dale 2 with Deigns, you will notice a pretty significant difference in the sound (i.e. Bisqwits has better sound). This was just one example as there are lots of other examples. So therefore, the problem cannot be with FCEU. I humbly request for a bit of consistency and better encoding with the sound.
[Edit by Bisqwit: More descriptive thread title]

After watching your run, I think it is safe to say that the word rape has a new meaning. Astonishing run! I loved it when you one time combined moonwalking with M.C Hammer dancing!! :) That dog sure takes his time to dig. Nevertheless, either your run or Fractalfusions upcoming any% run deserves a star. Yes vote.

A 100CDs/100% run would definitely be far more entertaining if you include all the new shortcuts through the zipping up/left/right glitch and you are most probably bound to discover a few more shortcuts for the 100CD run.
