I see, that clarify some statement. I think the best way could be simply to post an attachement files(or youtube links) of theses FMV, with the submition.

Here is how I set the pcsxrr config. I hope that could help.. I made an another zipped .pxm: 13.5ko (content 130K frames) here is the md5sum of the unzipped files (probably useless) a39a065e6bcddb6c8a03e47c0d5fe22f I'll note your advice for next time, thank you. You should see that luck manipulation for items drop is quite hard and there some optimized movement... this is actually the works of some hours of save/reload at each frame. I look very drunk while doing this. I think that sound problem will definitly be a problem on battle like the Lucas blight and Neclord fight... can be very nostalgic for some people.

My actual and first speedrun(suikoden2) should have only very few optimize movement, while I'm trying to test everything, etc... So, while I know that my speedrun should be destined to be obsolete... I was about to don't skip the FMV movies(I can skip them) in this game(except for the opening movie). In this game there less than 5 extra movie(and there only 15-30 second long), but they still entertaining. I would like to know, if a category like "Do not skip FMV movie to spare time"(or vice-versa) could be created. I'm sure that someone who like to have some entertaining will probably check out in this kind of category. Of course, if someone try to beat my speedrun and skip the FMV movie, the mine should become obselete... i'm just trying to provide some (descent) entertaining in this long rpg game.

sold peeing boys in trading post should help me a lot to recruit gordon(requirement: have castle lvl3 and make 50K potch of pofit from trading post). I would like to recruit him directly from the first visit at gregminster. But, that's true that peeing boys take long time to got... Nearly, I learn that I could also bought crystal ball from south windows and sold them at kobold village for a ridiculous high price.. I'll have to check out if that's true thought. hazy rune can be sold for 3000potch. where I can find the magic drain rune? I don't remember such rune before muse city invasion (except bought it at greenhill...)

yes avoid luck manipulation can be nice... but the enemy still using "calc skill" so that make no sense, while the miss you everytime... Thougth, that make the game more challenging, I suppose.

your link look very old... this talk about that work on old amiga computer :P After some research and testings, I found 2 pcsx-based for debug. this ==> http://www.romhacking.net/utils/475/ and this: ==> http://www.romhacking.net/utils/267/ (source code aivable) The first one seem freakly awesome... it looks to be able to log everything... The second one, we have to press F11 to see the debug windows... but we cant runs the game and check at the windows in the same time.. (in fact, I cant close the windows.. else this just crash the program, maybe there is an another hided shorcut to close this... hmm). But this one have the source code. edit: Now I would like to know if an pcsxrr with debuging integration could be a nice feature to request, I dont even know if I'll be able to understand something in a all of this (maybe my works on memory watch can help to start with dissambler stuff). Thought, that could be cool to know how many asm line theres is on each frame. Does utility like daemon-tools(lite version) could works better than real CD drive? Game like final fantasy can be annoying to have 3CD drive to eject/insert everytime. :)

I hesitate a lot about this, finally I got 7 doublebeat rune(possible characther: viktor, flick, Eilie, Freed, Georg, Humphrey, Stallion, Persmergea...), while some missions, require some specific characther and it's actually hard to figure out how far I can still kickass as low level... I prefer get more double beat rune than necessairy for this first speedrun. Also, some old thing than I din't saw coming, the hero and some other people(with good technic stat) can knockdown (with low pourcent) some enemy and boss ! I tested this on bonaparte and the double head snake... works fine, nut I tested this on Sierra and if she cant attack on her turn, the game will crash =/ I've also tried some tools to find out the RNS and yes, this is an awfull job... I'm actually working with the memory watch plugin and tsearch, but looks like that I'll also need to learn how to edit the hexadecimal files in the game CD... trying to found some clue about what are the correct formulla and more, maybe give a shot on ollydbg, hmmm I should also clarify something about "pilika show up", I'm actually need to recruit, Rikimaru, Millie, Kinisson and shiro... then save in an Inn, and it's only after have saved that she'll show up. Pretty tricky. other strategie: Luck manipulations, is very hard... It's almost impossible to have multiple criticals hits with more than 2 charachter by round. So now I think that the killer rune, can more usefull than fury rune(our hero can make berserk all our allie at lvl3 bright shield(with luck). These rune can be dropped by the bird in ryube forest.. and I have some time to waste while kinnison show up! I should post news update videos next weeks or this weekends, if i'm working hard :)

Hi, I think that I found what is the cause this. On other emulator, the "normal fps speed" is 56fps on suikoden 2 Actually, with the TAS graphic plugin... the normal fps speed is always 59.xx (or I din't find where I can fix this setting). That's could means that the fps autodetection have problem with sound synchronisation, I think this is too fast. (and this could be annoying to know exactly how long is the game in second/minute/hours) I'm not sure if this supposition has been already reported.. edit: And yes, in anyway, I'll definitly continue my work on this game, the actual route is huge, so there many chance that this first run can't be perfect(more than 4 hours to finish in tasing, as people think), so perfect sound, wont be necessairy too :D

I tested exit fate some hours and that's very nice... lot of hardwork behind this the new bride system is very interresting to avoid annoying enemy. Thought in this game money is hard to find. edit :I don't really like how the hero will set up his decision(highlight to see), about the situation, but game is very nice and I love it.

Hi, I'm actually working on a suikoden speedrun and I have some sound problem... you can see this on 0:16:50 and at 0:19:40(there also some other SFX issue in the video, but that the main one), of this video . This is quite annoying... I' have try some other plugins, but this seem to cause some unsynchronisation problem. I test some different configuration with the TAS sound plugin and the problem still happen. Here is the configuration, that I playd most of time (version 0.7 test-4) Thanks

Alright, I think that my previous method was to get specefic items and others, was a totaly waste of time... ==> http://pec.duttke.de/makecodes1.php (I should thanks people in PSX emulators forums categories to post this website) damn, very, very, very usefull trick (this one cant work on linux too :/ ) Now I should be able to find out where are all the RNS address... mouhahaha I advice this tutorial for all RPG TAS maker... now theory can be real I suppose that some people already know that trick, but I think that you should add this trick in guideline or something to help nooby/new-TASer like me. I'm unsure if I should start over the whole run... I already did a lot and spend many hours in this one. Maybe I'll just finish it without trying to optimize everything(that could me, to see how far I can go with luck manipulation).. and then make an ultimate run. ok, now to find RNS numbers, I'm still wondering how to proceed, as lagDotCom said... these number are generated/used when we press on YES (the confirm button at the end of battle move). Maybe that's working like some D20 system... maybe this work like an addition of some address to get the RNS... Also, I have no clue between what number is the RNS. These japanese developper could do something really weird, I don't know.

some progress... ==> http://www.megavideo.com/?v=GL2PSOAA so, need to collect some items from sparrow pass, actually I have 1 celdaron urn(?vase from bonbons), 6 double-beats rune and 3 "peeings boys"(?ornaments froms bandit C... I can sell them for 16,000potch or 32K in a trading post) Manipulate to get specific in terribly hard!! particuliary for the peeings boys!! I have to test each frame on by one!!, sometime is better to choose different kind of attack(choose attack manually instead of "auto") because this can reset the RNS number... in fact sometime he got reset sometime frame keep their number(you can see that I experiment the reset RNS at 0:28:38). I have no clue how to optimize battle correctly to get the good items in the good frame, instead of test them all(most time I can test 100frame and no peeing boy and each time that I got an ?ornament.. I have to run at toto village and see the appraiser to if it's not a stupid hex doll, or japan dish) I tryed to do ctrl+f and look how the address value move.. but their to many, I have no idea how I can know what is the items RNS in all of this memory address Anyway, next part should be easier for me :) and here's the actual .pxm if someone want to try it (works on 0.7 testing-4, I'll upgrade soon)

Sure. I know that we can recruit Mukumuku between Greenhill and Muse city, on the map. I think, that I'll wait to get the blink mirror to do some mass recuitement. :)

hmmm, I think that my actual pcsx-rr version(0.7 testing-4) wont work with this files.. and pxmconverter crash everytime... So i should probably trying to compile an old pcsxrr :/ Actually, I finish work in kyaro... and I'm trying to found out some celadon urn(already got one for lebrante recruitement, far later), double beat rune and peeing boy(can be selled for a high cost.. and then we should be able to buy some "fury rune" at muse city). I'll probably take some day to rest and try to set up a solid route.. So if you want here's my actual pxm. Also, with these cream cotlet... I was wondering, if i should add something like "never end battle with an uncounious member". In fact... this should be to prevent up this stupid glitch/bug, that I talk before. But, I also read the guideline about TASing and these restriction could be too much for people that will try to beat this... what do you think?

i made some test, pilika show up when you recruit 4 member or 5 with nanami(avaible: millie, rikimaru, kinnison, shiro, futch, humphrey and Zamza(but nanami have to be in your team)). But as i said my tas wont abuse any programing error... So no humphrey for now. Else, i found a very interresting item. The boar in ryube can drop "cream cotlet"(always 4packs)... this heal like 70 hp and you have 60% to be invulnerable during some turn. This should be very usefull...

(as you can see, i'm lacking to speak correctly english, so communication can be harder) -- I begin to write, a route of my whole run, on a little french forums about suikoden2... and I was thinking how I should proceed for the recruitement order... The best way should be to recruit people only when we have to do some stuff in aera and we got the blink mirror to minimize the travel time, but some characther must to be recruited only in a specific time(an example: Clive is actually tracking Elza and i dont i think, that I can wait to get the blink mirror to ask for join me) So, I wondered if there exist a "list", that talk about how much time we can wait to recruit this on another one characther. Else, I'll have to start over an another "test game" to note everything about this stuff.

hey i just played a while, without tasing... and looks like you can save some time if you dont rescue nanami So you wont need this heard what she have to say until you see her again at muse city, when you need a permit(yes... she'll magically appear behind you :D ) but you will have to hire mukumuku(lvl3-5) in your team too... and he's not a valuable charather to beat the double head snake(2500hp) in sindar ruins. I think that is a quick and funny way, but it seem really risky.

if i use matilda border trick, i know a way to go instead at lakewest,(just go to greenhill region, just before traveling on the Tai Ho boat) then you can get the kindness rune into a basket. Does Lucas have a any weakness against some specifics runes or any ability? An another glitch... you can have infinite money when your got the armor shop in your castle.
