Heh, that page claims it was renamed from Gryzor to Contra rather than the other way around. What should I believe?

Maybe Diman's doing it on purpose, to demonstrate how we seem to like some game movies once but then don't want to accept them again.

I don't mean what the GoodNES d00dz say, I mean what the title screen of the actual game says! Or the box art, if you have the box too

Are you SURE? I don't want people going around calling it "Gryzor" if that's not really what it says.

I'd vote for removing the Princess run as well. I always wondered, what's the significance of a Princess-only run, besides that is has a published run? I guess I see a comparison as, if someone submitted a Mario-only run, I don't think it would be published.
On the other hand, I'm not sure I'd mind seeing a Mario-only run, considering he's never used in speed-only runs!

Does this game feature the handicap option where you can give each character 9 stars to start? =P
No, but the Mini-Game Stadium lets you start off players with extra coins.

Yeah, and this game is kinda silly in that you have to freeze and unfreeze an enemy repeatedly to kill it with that beam...

Hmm, this reminds me of how the height of a Shadow Blade I was throwing in Rockman World 3 would vary by a pixel depending on where I had thrown it before, and that affected whether I reached an enemy. Like, maybe there's some kind of oscillation to the fractional pixels or something.

Are you sure it's actually called Gryzor? I think it's called Contra on the title screen. Maybe the GoodNES list is wrong.

Yay, I hope you finish all the modes. It's just so cute seeing the small sprites.

Those lasers look pretty efficient. Hey, if this gets accepted, should somebody hold Select and Start throughout the credits to get the secret message?

Unless you get the administrator to fix it for you, I think you'll have to cancel and re-submit.

What, for the D-pad? Because I don't think it's even possible to send two directions at once for the stick position.

Kirby 64 uses the cross pad, too. But I don't know if it's very interesting because Kirby is a little slow. The Bomberman games are probably fine for keyboard too though because he seem to be able to move in only 8 directions anyway.

Hmm, is it true that you have to win the 100 stars all over again on Eternal Star before you can play any of the other boards again? It would be funny if you set it up to do that on only one playthrough, but you might need more than 20 turns to pull it off.

I know that one of the stars goes to whomever has ever had the highest coin count seen in the game. So if somebody got 218 coins once, and nobody ever exceeded that, and that player traded coins to someone else in Chance Time, and then all players stayed at or below 218 for the rest of the game, then both players would get an extra star for having 218 coins before. Now for the mini-game coin star, I'm not sure about that, besides that I always win that because everybody I play against is worse at the mini-games than I am. I don't know if it keeps track of coin losses or just coin gains, for instance, so you might want to experiment with that for yourself.

Yeah, having bought everything a long time back, I admit I can't remember which items have to be bought first. I was just thinking about how often the players will actually end up going to Bowser, since it might be fun just to see him pull his tricks once in a while. There are some Toad spaces that you can't get to without passing Bowser, right? And you'd need some very tricky timing in Mario's board to keep everyone from ever meeting Bowser...

That sounds like fun. I think it would also be good to set perfect records everywhere, even on out-of-game stuff like Mecha Fly Guy and Bumper Ball Mazes. Maybe they could go at the end of the island run. Now I'm considering how the full run would go. You'd want 20-turn games the whole time, right? That's 140 mini-games, so you could do every one two or three times. That's not too bad. 1-player games would probably waste too much time to be worth anything unless the players seriously can't get coins anywhere else, but those would be covered by the island run. On the other hand, a lot of the mini-games in this game just transfer coins between players rather than generate new coins, so you might end up restricting the mini-game set to help pay for stars. No use for Boo if it's cooperative... And of course, don't forget to turn off the mini-game explanation screen!
