Hmm, I noticed that when enemies come up behind you, you like to jump up and... shoot downward? Is that the fastest way to do it? Can you shoot down-right and still get them? Just making sure.

Did you try the other guns, and did you try speeding up your gun by collecting an extra copy? (I think that's how it works anyway...) Also, did you make sure to only use the walk-through-walls trick when necessary?

Now that's assuming that the missiles you get from bosses don't count as items, right? If you count the 75 missiles from a boss as 15 missile packs, then that certainly isn't a one-item run.

Then there must be some crazy way to integrate them into Windows Media Player that nobody knows. Eventually I stopped trying to find it.

Okay, it sounds as though Gens uses a separate save file for movies that use saved data. That means you should put together the save file that will be the most efficient for your movie and keep a backup copy at all times in case you accidentally change it somehow. Then when you submit your movie, you provide the save file for the viewers to swap out with their own save files.

I'm sure you could find that sort of data in any game that uses variable speed if you search long enough.

Yeah, "No power-ups" usually sounds to me like "I didn't want to have to think too much, so I decided to artificially simplify the game for myself and call it a special run category."

Could you have a box that lets you type in what frame to pause on, and the last frame would be in as the default?

I think I like the beam being semi-transparent from the flickering, to make it look less physical... But oh well.

Oh, I found a get-in-the-wall trick in Pocket Bomberman which might be funny to see exploited, but it could take some more planning to use efficiently. On the other hand, that game is short and fast.
