Well DUH they were intentional missed shots. I suggested that because I like seeing the very last frame you can shoot before you get frozen.

It should at least collect all 115 Mumbo Jumbo tokens, since I always do that for my 100% runs and I was disappointed that they weren't all collected in the speeddemosarchive movie. (And he grabbed a few too many, anyway...)

I don't understand your logic. If shurikens are a part of the game, why should they be avoided? Sure, the starting number could be set to 0 as a "hardest level" requirement, but I don't see why that dictates whether you can get them in the game.
