Yeah, jumping seems to conserve Kirby's speed, so if something has boosted his speed past running speed, then he should do continuous jumps to keep it.

Oh, in the first version I played, the computers were too smart, and I had major troubles beating them. But I haven't checked out the new one yet.

Well, you exit a door at the bottom of the slide, but I don't think there's another doorway to enter it. I could be wrong, though.

This has been brought up before. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=234 (multi-game topic) http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2610 (No replies! How sad.) http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1657 In that last one I brought up the possibility of doing the Japanese version, Meikyuu Shima, which has slightly different levels and lets you choose the order. There was also a run posted by Josh L.: http://omake.studio-zoe.com/Kickle%20Cubicle%20(U).fcm And I don't know why that tag's not working...

You're sure you can't just skim alongside the coins somehow? Maybe try it with frame advance.

Oh... I thought this was for no coins on the coin total sheet, so special levels didn't count.

Hmm, how did he get so Mighty after being just regular Bomb Jack? I played the Bomb Jack for Game Boy once, and it was pretty fun.

Then maybe you're using the wrong emulator version. Did you download the one at http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1020&start=180? I used that just now to watch Baxter's last movie before the tornado test, and it worked the whole way through.

Baxter was using Kirby's Adventure (U) (PRG0) [!].nes, while Nitsuja was using Kirby's Adventure (U) (PRG1) [!].nes. Can you get the checksums to match?

No actually, I appreciate this. Like I said, I didn't have much to fight. I'm gonna have to look for a set of new kirby roms though. The two roms I have desync both you and nitsuja's run (now called wips?).
"Work In Progress". Yeah, I think that term gets overused here.

I see the emulator page 'recommends' fceu now, does that mean bisqwit allows and turns speedruns with this emu into vids as well? If I can use fceu with all the features famtasia is missing I'm certain I can be faster as well :p
Wow, you've been gone a while.

On that note, why isn't either of your runs being posted on the website? It still has the first of Bisqwits..
Because they aren't finished! :P

Btw, I accidentally discovered an easter egg today. In 1.2, at the warp star, if you move the star into the screen, then move a little back so the star is just outside of screen, and move right towards the star again, the star will vanish and you can move further to the right. The name "HAL" will be shown written in blocks. Useless but funny. (Ok, maybe old news, but I can't remember ever reading about this one).
Yeah, that's pretty well-known now.

And if I start over, which one's better? (U) PR0 or PR1? I still have a choice... :)
I don't know, but you also have a choice of whether to skip the intro faster with the reset button since FCEU lets you record it. I think reset tricks are cool, but other people might think they're just cheap.

For me, the perfect movie of this game would: - Get all secret characters (this means playing the main game three times, if I'm not mistaken) - Once, beat very hard as fast as possible. - Once, go for highest score, get pacifist on all stages (exept for master hand) if possible) - Once, just go for entertainment, and show off stuff Then, 3 characters are unlocked, and the movie should continue on getting record times on break the targets. this will unlock the last character, and you can make record times on break the targets for everyone. Finally, make records for every character on board the platforms... the stop the movie.
That sounds good, except it makes it tricky for someone to compete with that third run ("You didn't do it as entertainingly as the other guy! FAIL!"). Maybe the goal could be to get the greatest number of bonuses as opposed to the highest total score.

All right, I beat the giant anglerfish thingy! http://www.filespace.org/BagOfMagicFood/BOMBERMAN64U_USA.zip I think I minimized its phases pretty well. Well, time to study up on Red Mountain.

Well, I'm saying the edge values aren't exactly the same all the time, even on the same controller. The elastic can wear out and change how far you have to push the stick.

Okay, I updated with the other cards of 2-3: http://www.filespace.org/BagOfMagicFood/BOMBERMAN64U_USA.zip It took a long time to make because I had to fight a lot of randomness. It's interesting that I came pretty close to the target time with that one. If I could shave off about five seconds somehow, I'd only need one trip, and that would save a ton of time. I also wonder if getting a second fire powerup was a mistake. Well, I'll just see how it affects later levels. I think it could have been a mistake to bomb that first cannon in 2-1, too, since it turns out cannons don't count as enemies.

Hmm, does the frame count disappear after a few seconds too? I think it would be good to leave it up in case you start to forget what it was, but let you turn it off without having to advance a frame in case you want to see the screen under it.
