Another thing I remembered is that I could try to use missed shots to my advantage. There's the obvious "shoot to charge at a more convenient time" idea, but also, in this game, a charged shot pushes you back a little. Perhaps I could fire a charged shot while entering an area vertically and facing backward in some situations to get an extra boost forward. Should I try to work this into a redo of the first four levels?

FCEU refuses to play sound when another program that plays sound is running? That doesn't happen to me. And clicking something other than "OK" makes it crash?

Hm, too bad I didn't think to make you try an extra pause when I was bugging you about that spot. I don't see why you would need to pause as many times as Finalfighter did, though. Doesn't each pause make you lose a minimum of two frames from the time between button presses? And then if you go extra high, you have to fall farther before jumping again.

I haven't played much of this, but when I get some more free time I might look into it.

Heh, I wonder if there's a loophole in the programming that lets you skip levels!

Oh, I just read that the coin ships will only appear in worlds 1, 3, 5, and 6.

Well you could do that in Super Mario Brothers 1 by stopping the stair trick every time you hit 1-ups, right? Might be boring...

Well, you get a time bonus after beating Bowser! But I honestly don't know how soon you can reach the score cap playing every level exactly once. If you're just stuck at all 9s for a long time, that might not be as interesting.

You should get the high score speedily, of course.

A hack in which Mario has a funny beard? I could go for that! Wait wait... 2-player run! 2-player SCORE run! Max out both players' scores somehow.

I remember that... But that movie's more about finding glitches, not secrets, I think.

Well, what I'm really interested in is a movie that does everything and shows off all the game's secrets. I figured the score run was the simplest way to get something like that to happen, although I bet the player would still skip a lot of stuff to save time so the extra time adds up to points.

Could you do worlds 5 and 6 four times in a row using the warp whistles?

I probably mentioned this before, but once after a long session of playing Mega Man 3 on the console, I tried it on Famtasia at 100% speed, and the music sounded slower to me. So I turned up the speed by a few percent to make it seem more authentic.

It could be useful in a score run because of all those coins!
