You can also slide to avoid waiting to run, but in some games you can't do that right after getting off a ladder because they interpret the Down part of the Down+A combo first, and you just go back on the ladder.

All right, so if Bisqwit is correct, then in the first game, your speed is 1.25 pixels per frame, while in the second game, your speed is 1.375 pixels per frame. Can you figure out the movement pattern for jumping and falling then?

Yeah, I don't know that I care for all-text games, because you're practically "playing blind". Sometimes graphics help a little.

And I'm not sure it's right to act as though it's easy to duplicate a movie with minor improvements. You still have to record the entire game in super slow motion with many retries, which takes a long time. Unless you come up with several crazy new strategies, it can be very difficult to squeeze a lot of time out of a movie that already aimed for perfection. And sometimes improving one spot makes a later spot turn out worse no matter what you do, which is frustrating.
