I got it to work in the FDS version, but you have to stand really far to the left and play the flute when the boomerang is on the far right. Someone more dedicated could probably find the exact conditions to make it work with some testing. I couldn't make it work on the US cartridge, though, so a run that abuses the trick to complete the game faster will likely have to use the disk version.

I'm going to find the recorder in the FDS version soon, so I'll tell you if it works.

What, you mean making the clock stop altogether? I don't think that's a very good idea if you're trying to make runs within the rules of the real game.

Is your way the fastest way??? hmm Well anyway, see if there's any benefit to getting lots of instant-win battles. It helps if the enemy's facing away from you so you get the extra attack.

Well, okay, so it probably won't be THAT dire. I can just bomb the mouse/tree/thing and the block with the skate, then get the skate while forcing Bomberman into the wall. After the bombs I used to get inside the wall go off, I can bomb the Gargachu and escape into the pillar. I really hate that I have to wait for bomb explosions in that level, though...
