I think your technique's getting better, Hornqvist. I just love that downward slide. Do you think it's possible to find the damage you do using the memory viewer so you can still manipulate critical hits without getting the Soul Orb? That would be great if you could.

VisualBoyAdvance does have that "load most recent" thing, which is helpful when I forget which state I'm using, but it has bullet-proof recording anyway so it doesn't really matter.

FCEU gives you the option of doing it the other way, too. It's nice to have options!

Cool! It's a shame the NES version didn't let you use two players in mission mode. (Alternating between two separate games is NOT a two player game!)

Maybe power-ups decay over time! Or maybe the true ending of Metroid is the one where you only have the ball morph, long beam, and 30 missiles. But then why don't you have even that much in Metroid 3? There was that one Genesis Mega Man game where you can pick your weapons from the first three games, so maybe they all happened in a row fast enough for the weapons not to decay... And I'll bet the Robot Masters just keep stealing his Rush adaptors.

Doesn't killing the first boss count as a couple of % since it gives you more missiles?
I don't know. I think a lot of people decide it doesn't count because you don't see Samus getting an actual "item". The first two Metroid games don't keep track of percentages, so they're open to interpretation.

The workaround to that is loading the movie as "read-only", loading the savestate, saving a new state where you want to re-record, playing back without "read-only" and loading the state :P Yea thats a lot of trouble heh
FCEU doesn't let you turn off read-only mode in the middle of a movie like VBA does, does it? That would save a step in that process.

Yes. That is one reason I haven't used frame advance in FCEU. The other reason is that it crashes. 3% speed works, but I have to do everything in rhythm, which is a little annoying.

Did you pause first? I don't think FCEU's frame advance automatically puts you into pause mode.

Haha, that game had some really stupid-looking Robot Masters. Dangaman looks the worst, but Compassman looks the funniest. I liked the flashback to Rockman World 2, though. But I didn't have the urge the replay the entire game as Forte, since I can't read the story, and I figure it won't be terribly different with him anyway. Hey, why didn't they get around to using MagicMan's song? :(

You could leave the emulator on Turbo speed for a while to fast-forward if your computer's fast enough. That's what I always do, since I'm still not comfortable with read-only mode.

Well, now you can see the first four regular stages. http://www.geocities.com/ryan_ferneau/Rockman_World_J.zip It mostly follows my old path, but I tried to save a little more time where I could.

Yeah, it's cool. The current system can be too much of a hassle for new people. This can be an easy way to advertise or whatever.
