I think the book has all the story, but the movie serves as a nice set of animated illustrations.

It loops at 9,999,950, actually. The millions digit just isn't visible at the beginning of the game, strangely--I guess the programmer(s?) figured most players wouldn't get that high a score in one game. :p

Generally, doing an impression means imitating someone's voice and mannerisms for comedic effect
I thought that was called an imitation! An impression is when you press something into something else to leave a mark.

Also, I'm curious, why would you immediately assume an argumentative and fairly condescending tone instead of just taking seven minutes to watch the video and determine that it was, in fact, new?

No, man, breaking bricks is cool... At least I think so. I remember when I played the game as a kid, I made sure to break every brick that I could in the first level before moving on.

Jumping on the same turtle would be tricky because you would want to get off and back on just before it starts giving you extra lives. And don't forget about the points that fireworks give! You may have to adjust your timing somewhere for that.

It's because the run that Graveworm and I are working on is a secret project. It is not required for a person to use strategies that have not been made public yet. Which is why the submission is reasonable. I might have revealed something if I had known that parrot14green was serious about beating the published run. I did not think so before now.
Well that's not very nice of you! You should have revealed EVERYTHING at the beginning!

If they were you could have shown incredible luck manipulation to move them to the closest possible rooms. Which would also have shrunk the length of this movie dramatically.
But luck manipulation is boring! It takes too long to get what you want, and you don't really "see" it in the movie unless it's terribly drastic, in which case it's boring because you win too fast for anything interesting to happen.

yeah, movies by Kubrick are generally boring. Entertainment doesn't seem to be his primary goal.
Yeah, he should have sacrificed some speed for entertainment!

I understand it's hard to appreciate the movie in 2006. Some of his visions were corrupted by a different reality, others are taken for granted nowadays.
Whose visions? Arthur C. Clarke's?

Why not? Well, if you can't get the source, just ask the authors nicely for what features you need.

I don't know how that would ever be possible if the Nintendo 64 only accepts one stick coordinate at a time. The control stick isn't a set of buttons. What are you imagining here? Slicing the stick in half and pulling the halves in different directions?
