Aah, I see. I knew there must've been a good reason for that. Thanks for the explanation.
It's a good explanation, but I have an even better one! The bomb you saw was the bomb I placed (also note the bomb placing sound) to get rid of my last bomb when bombing the wall later on (for the automatic weapon switch). None of the blue darknuts dropped a bomb that I could pick up.

I notice that you do the level 1 glitch, but in level 6 walk right past a key in the open -- at 08:28 in Flygon's encode part 1. Wouldn't it be faster to grab the key in level 6 rather than do the level 1 glitch?
I pick up that key at 9:05 in that encode, on my way back from collecting the wand. It's faster to zigzag when going to the upper right, so it was faster not to pick it up the first time when I enterted that room. On the way back, it was directly on my path when walking downwards.

I asked people's opinions about the exact restrictions. Responses like these made me decide to impose not collecting the sword until the full triforce is collected as a restriction:

Stylistically it looks better if you don't have the sword for the vast majority of the game. At least, that's my opinion. This would be a speed/entertainment tradeoff.

...getting the sword sooner is less entertaining. Maybe only subjectively less entertaining, but I'm pretty sure actually having nothing in the A button box looks more interesting than having a sword there and never pressing A.
It also was something Jprofit22 did in his run, and I didn't want it to seem like this improvement came from changing the restrictions.

Note to everyone who plans to encode: I don't want to see Link moving OVER the doors in the dungeons. The encode of the current Swordless TAS has it, and that looks awful. config > videos... > uncheck "allow more than 8 sprites per scanline"

TMNT "4 players" starred. The Arcades didn't have a star yet and shows off playing with 4 players perfectly. There is no reason for not starring something because something else might come along some day.

What about the heartcontainers and possible extra items (boomerang, etc)?

Nice to see this accepted and published. After the Outlands ordeal, I don't think I would have the courage to make this... good to see people enjoyed it :) The exact goals aren't too clear to me though. I was wondering... which of the following would disqualify a movie from being an improvement to this movie? 1) Collecting one or more heart containers 2) Collecting other items, such as boomerang, magic key, bracelet etc. 3) Collecting the sword earlier, but still using it only for Ganon 4) Not collecting the sword but freezing the screen at Ganon with the freezing glitch Although I have an opinion, I'm not particularly arguing for one or the other... just curious about the precise restrictions.

Should Tetris fast 999999 take the Arkanoid star (puzzle star), or should they coexist? I was also considering giving a star to the new OoT movie once it got published, any thoughts on this?

Mukki's post makes sense. I changed Mega Man 5's star to a moon. I added Donkey Kong Country 2 100% and the new Brain Age TAS to the starlist.

Voting yes, very action packed TAS! I assume it's just an aspect of the game, but I really like how the hits fit in with the music.

I already did the 1st Dungeon of Zelda but it's not a speed run... I'm sure I'll do a complete speed run sooner or later though seeing as how the gameplay footage doesn't actually move too often.
Hmm, Zelda would be very nice... might be hard to pick which run though... the second quest run is optimized with the screen glitch, but that very glitch might look weird when displayed on a big map...

It seemed like finalfighter used the (E) version. You should however stick with the (U) version when making your TAS.

aaaa take it easy guy! is my first time.
I did. I judged it like any other judge would. ----------------------------------------------------- On a note that's actually interesting... if the goal of my TAS would have been the shortest possible input time, my TAS (the published TAS) would be quite optimal, as only very little blocks are left when the maximum score is obtained. This however is not the optimal strategy when the goal is game time. The optimal strategy would keep in mind that the goal is game time, and would avoid the manual scrolling up by making sure there was a line of unused blocks at the side. This TAS on youtube utilized this strategy and beats the published TAS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-0rKAYi2mEp. I have nothing against someone beating a TAS of mine... and I would love if it if this youtube TAS would be submitted (by the author of the TAS!!)... but don't just copy someone elses work. (Also: There is an improvement of this TAS on youtube too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bkdLgtfftQ. It gets an ingame time of 0:55, instead of the current 1:01.

Update: Added: Mega Man 5 New and great movie. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Suggested a few times, there is no star of a fighting game yet. Arkanoid Got positive response after being mentioned and could be interepreted by some as being a puzzle game. Removed: King's Bounty I know it's popular by some, but there were quite a few posts preferring something else over it. For now, it loses its star. Golden Axe When this star was being questioned, people agreed it might as well lose the star. When I wanted to remove it Mukki just made a new version... It would seem a bit mean towards Mukki. It has had the star for a couple of months now, so I'll remove it now. People preferred more of a fighting game like UMK3. Point of discussion: Mega Man 7 has been suggested, Mega Man 8 has been suggested, currently Rockman and Forte (100CD) and the dual Mega Man X1+X2 have a star... how many stars should these games have and how should they be distributed?

No, only your latest wip isn't present anymore at the microstorage... all others were backed up, and are working again (so you can keep using microstorage)!

I could have used Super Arrow to zip through the wall in Gravity Man's stage in two rooms: room 6 and room 7. I also could have used an Arrow screen scrolling glitch in the second to third room of Crystal Man's stage and used another Arrow zip myself out of the ceiling.
Do you have any movies of this? I'm interested to see how this looks! (I fully understand btw that you won't redo)
