After seeing all these graphs in this topic... I wouldn't mind seeing a graph of #of published movies for specific players vs time (they could be plotted in the same graph with different colors). Such a graph is probably most interesting if it contains data from people who have/had lots of movies, like walkerboh.

Very true. I think when TASing started, it was about making a TAS of a game that hadn't been done yet, to show some things that had never been seen before. Right now, most popular games have already been done, and it's now about getting movies frame perfect. It takes a lot more time, and it's a lot harder to spot. There is nothing more frustrating on a movie that you spent lots of your time on being rejected. I had relatively little of these movies (2 come to my mind), but I'm still rather discontent with both not being published.
I wouldn't really know what to do about this thought... it seems like going for improvements instead of new movies might indeed be the best option to be sure of not wasting your time.

It is possible to actually measure if you have improved the level. Just check frame numbers at some spots that correspond to the same spot in the published TAS, and compare them before and after the level.
The movie you posted is at least 159 frames slower than the route that was taken in the published TAS.

Well, you still need to be faster than the published movie, like Deign said. You'd better watch it first before trying to improve it.
Also, 26 rerecords is rather low... I would already use 26 rerecords on determining at what frame to press start for the first time...

Is this an argument for or against this run? Doesn't a run that aims for realtime have more door transitions? What do you mean by that you don't watch them?
Yeah, 4 seconds slower than the current publication... but about 90 seconds slower than Hero's submission. (Not trying to argue (at least with this post) for one run or the other... but you obviously shouldn't compare to the published run.)

Wow, amazing speedrun. This is a VERY hard game, and you made it look relatively easy. It was great fun to watch, and it was very well executed.
Btw, I'm posting this here, both because there wasn't a topic of it at SDA, and to motivate people to finally make a TAS of this game.

I'd love to see a TAS of this game. I remember there being a ludicrous speed setting, which needs to be unlocked. Maybe it's possible to enable this setting with a cheat or something?

I have this game... and was never able to complete it. The game is crazy hard towards the end. I don't know if the game is really suited for a TAS, but I would sure love to see a TAS of it!

Short story by David Sedaris, who talks about a Dutch holiday (after a short, but also funny intro). You might think he made up the details about this Dutch holiday, but it's actually 100% accurate. If you grew up with the story, it doesn't sound so strange. From his point of view though, the details can't get much weirder. He tells his story really well. Enjoy!

What about about 1.5 times as much enemies, such as in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2?
I think generally at the site, the fastest possible movie is always published (whether it is 1 player or 2 player). A slower 1 player movie is almost never published, as it is likely to be less entertaining (and also slower in this case). A slower 2 player movie is published if it is more entertaining than the 1 player movie, but doesn't obsolete it.
