I have to say that I somewhat disagree. I recently got a score over 4 million at death mode, and I also improved my normal mode score today... with not too much effort actually. You might think or say that it depends on luck, and I agree a little to this... but not entirely. I think I improved my playing a little recently which got me these scores, and I think I can do better than this (with this RGN). It's also about how you set up your pieces to give randomness less influence on your game. I think I can improve both my normal mode score, and death mode score, with not too many games of trying... so I don't see a need for a new RGN. I think the very short amount of time to place your block has far greater influence than the randomness. Adjusting the randomness for the game to be easier would also do no right to the scores that have been made sofar. Edit: 28 million now at normal mode :)

I just did a test, on how much faster killing protoman with this is... it turned out to be 40 frames faster :D

I think I found a better way to start the Protoman battle at the Hardman stage: movie If you hold on to the ladder the last frame before the screen scrolls, you are able to perform a jump when entering the protoman room. This enables you to get at the top platform. Being at the top platform at the start will enable megaman to slide underneath the first jump of protoman, so I think this will save some frames (maybe even up to half a second). Note that protoman still spawns at the same frame.

Just saying this now, so I won't get reactions later for not having said this earlier (and yes, I did watch the wip): Abadox (imo) isn't a suitable game for a TAS.

I don't think I agree with the premise that a beating a difficult game makes a good TAS. It is exepected that a difficult game can be easily beaten using tools. Seeing such a game beaten makes for an interesting CONSOLE. For a TAS, the game has to be more than beaten. It needs to show something extraordinary.
I totally agree with this. The ship moved really slow which wasn't helping either. The movie was ok in completing the game, but didn't really show anything special or unexpected. Surely normal speedrunning couldn't achive this time, but I doubt that it would be really far off. I'm also not really sure what to vote. Movie is ok, but besides the game being really bad, it's also not very well suited for a TAS... so I'm voting no.

Yeah, you shouldn't overdo it... I mostly played a game in between of doing something else, when I needed a short break. I'm not gonna try to improve my scores... I'm happy as it is (might change if the high score list changes).

It would be interesting if Costa Rica would beat Ecuador with a good score. If that happens, Germany could still not qualify, and Poland could still qualify. Everything will stay open... so I guess I'm hoping Costa Rica will win (not that I'm against Germany, or for Poland... but it will be more interesting). If Equador wins (which will probably happen), Germany and Equador advance, and will play for 1st and 2nd place.

When talking with AngerFist about what project we should do together, this idea also crossed our minds. I think the most interesting dual tas of contra and super contra is a 2 player run. You will have far more options this way. The wip you posted at your first post was only a test, showing the concept, right? If not, I think you should redo, since it can be improved by a lot. I also think you shouldn't try to syncronize the levels. Just aim for the fastest time, so sure you can lose some time at contra if it profits the super contra movie, but waiting at the boss like at the wip will only make the movie slower.

And yours, must mean that you feel like beating someone up?
I think it does mean that :P

Also, I'm kinda curious about this "ladder trick", and since the link to the movie that shows it is no longer, I can't see it. Could someone please explain?
You already used it in your movie.

It's now listed at the same spot in the movie list as the first zelda. I think that was the main reason. I think it's a good idea actually, although The Legend of Zelda II might be better than The Legend of Zelda 2.

I'm seeding it now, as are 3 others... there's just no one downloading it. If the torrent isn't working for you, you should try one of the mirrors.

The differences provide more planning, but also more options. I think we can use many of these differences to our advantage.

Fifth level complete now aswell. I'm almost halfway done now. I've devided the game in 10 levels: 1 - Flaming building 2 - Streets 3 - Sewers 4 - Snow level 5 - Parking lot 6 - Highway 7 - Skateboarding 8 - Streets 2 9 - Dojo 10 - Technodrome The skateboarding level is very short, but the technodrome level is VERY long. I'm definately over halfway done once I've completed the skateboarding level.
