I know it's a contraversial issue, but this isn't a question whose answer will be based on opinion. In general, if a movie is published which purposely avoids taking damage, and a movie of the same game is submitted having the same goals EXCEPT that it takes damage to save time, is the general policy that the latter movie will be published in addition to the first, or will it overwrite it? Kid Icarus comes to mind: why is it that bobwhoops' run was never made into an avi where sleepz' was?

Mean! Making a topic in the console-specific board is usually in preparation for making the run, so you can get help from others and so on. But nonetheless, congratulations on that- even though you think it's perfect you will no doubt get some competition somewhere down the road.

Looks fantastic! Boss fights are done well, platform corridors are done well, the final test looks great... the one thing I wonder about is for the secret cliffs' last vertical shaft, why do you use the rising platforms for a little and then the cloud? One must be faster than the other, no? Very well done.

Indeed, I'll definitely make some runs if this works out.

Moving downward in elevators doesn't act the same way as moving upward. When moving downward, Link refuses to walk left or right. I attack the wall to bounce Link where I want him to be.
Just making sure- this has nothing to do with keyboard settings and the whole not being able to push certain buttons ont he same row or whatever simultaneously thing right?

I guess technically, evermore would require way more planning and in the end would probably be more interesting, even though people generally are less familiar with it and probably like it less.

I think what keeps me from doing it is knowing nothing about the game(also having technically no frame by frame to move the cursor around as fast as possible). Maybe contributing strategies or giving tips above general knowledge would help.

theoretically- hoping to see one from itstoearly. If you can trade and buy houses without it being your turn, you don't have to get doubles between Tennesee and New York. If not, the reason I chose rolling a 5 to Indiana was because I thought not buying Indiana would be faster than getting a chance card- you'd have to see which is faster.

How's this route sound, assuming the computer trades all money for a monopoly? You are player a, computer player b. 1a: 4+4, buy Vermont. 8(no doubles(abbreviated nd)), buy St. James. 2b: 3+3, buy Oriental. 2+1, buy Connecticut. 3a: 1+1, buy Tennessee. 2+2, get move back 3, buy New York. Trade blue monopoly for computer's money, spend all money on orange houses. 5(nd), don't buy Indiana. 4b: 5+5, 1+2. Between the houses on St James & New York, computer should be bankrupt. 4 turns is all it takes if you can exploit that AI bug.

I'd imagine that if you had 7 computers, and there is a specific best route for one computer to follow, the other 6 would follow the same route, and it would get tedious. I think one computer would be best.

I think I'm with kyrsimys(no more complaining about the spelling of your name) on this one. The walk speed is just ridiculous, and I think it would get real repetitive real fast.

with his ridiculously low traction, my understanding is that luigi is king of wavedashing. And I guess people like his uppercut, too.

There is a trick I found in X2 that should be used more often in platform game runs. Because of vertical acceleration when you fall, when you are going to fall down, jump early so that by the time you're going down, you're already falling at a fast rate. That wasn't very articulate. But this wasn't done in the last run, and is very necessary in future ones. In mega man games past the 2nd, it's not necessary because time saved by sliding is greater than time saved by optimizing vertical acceleration.

1) Celebi keeps eluding me 2) Diskun- I have just a couple more bonuses to get... including that jerk celebi 3) Crazy Hand- the toughest trophy to get, I haven't tried in awhile though.

if there are so many consistent mistakes, even if they're small ones, maybe we shoudl wait until a video is made combining your three strategies.

I definitely though some were worse than others. I thought Mr Slam wasn't very good since he was so slow/had horrible maneuvering, and his special relied on getting close to the enemy at a proper angle.

smash melee is my second favorite game of all time after FF7. it is easy to pick up, hard to master, very balanced despite every character having completely different playstyles from the next(even the clones), EVERY character is good and is a favorite of some expert player... and so on. Though it may not be a typical fighting game, that's the best part about it. Memorization of combos is important, but not in the form of button sequences, which is exactly how it should be. Though it's a multiplayer game it will be a long long time before you beat everything in single player, and you will have fun the whole time. Just an amazing game

I'd say it was all intentional. Who would screw up so bad, then try out the nunchucks expecting it to look cool when he already screwed up so hard, then put it on the internet?

I only played the first three, but of those, I agree. The second had major additions and incredible levels(paris was my favorite, but they were all great), along with very unique characters. I'd prefer the first over the third though, just cause it was the basis. Too bad roadkill sucked hard past the first, he was probably my favorite in any of the first three(for being good and for handling, not for fun. twister would probably have the honor of taking that).

http://www.thezorz.com/agile/WhompEm2.vmv That's some version of Bombahead's run, but I'm not sure how far it goes. I'd really like to help as much as I can, so maybe after each level the three of us can collaborate or something to talk about it. But you're the one who wishes to take it on, so whatever you'd like.

This brings up an interesting point. Somebody such as Zurreco feels that:
I really only make these movies to either test/show my skill/determination for certain games, or to bring in competition for other games. I could care less if I ever get a movie published; I'm not here to make a name for myself.
FODA on the other hand, and I imagine most on this site(myself included) feel that:
Just to imagine someone watching the movie and getting surprised at how the levels are beaten is enough motivation to make these movies.
Neither is right or wrong of course, but they are two completely different reasons for making movies. Zurreco has not had a movie published, but that is mostly because everybody other than him(or even himself in some cases) has problem watching a movie without desyncing(that is, it gets up to a certain part and no longer works properly- it's no longer what he told the game to do). While this has certainly hurt his morale, he doesn't stop working on them, simply because whether it actually gets onto the website is not the point; he just enjoys making them. (I will speak for myself here, as I'm not sure if FODA feels exactly the same though it seems so) I on the other hand, actually use what Zurreco doesn't care about as motivation. When I get to a part that's difficult to do, I think about how cool it will look to myself and the other viewers once it is published. Alternatively, often these hard-to-do parts will not look at all difficult upon viewing them, but you must remain optimistic nonetheless, thinking about how cool everything else in the movie will look.

Excellent, walker! I've wanted to see this for a long time. Check out the one competent faq on gamefaqs. Other than that, the movie will include: 1) Route planning. I think each boss has a weakness of some sort. The FAQ will greatly assist with that. There are also areas which jumping at the right place will net you a bonus item(ex. life recovery item, etc.). You won't be able to get some of these items without stopping, but if this is the case I think you should still uncover every one. Individual level planning is also important for levels such as the ice level, where you have to fall down a vertical corridor as fast as possible, similar to super metroid's early vertical corridor(before the dead mother brain), only without the easy path on the far right. 2) Damage planning. You will be getting items similar to energy tanks in metroid(only they're only used once and can't be filled up again, almost like an extra life), and you will have a lot of life to work with, but taking a lot of damage will be necessary. This is a very platform-heavy platform game, and between this and the fact that taking damage knocks you up into the air(without sacrificing horizontal speed), you'll be taking a lot of damage. I suggest you view Bombahead's video in order to see level layouts, and this can assist in planning where to take damage(though several of his areas can be improved: he didn't plan on submitting this video). 3) Luck abuse. This partly goes along with #2: while you will be taking a lot of damage from enemies, you will also be defeating a lot of enemies, and almost every enemy drops an item of some sort. Some of these you collect to restore health, increase maximum health, and some are those energy-tankish things. But most importantly, some are temporary bonuses to either range, defense, or invincibility(I don't think there is a bonus to offense). I am guessing you will need to manipulate luck to get defense or invincibility bonuses where necessary. I really want this video to be as good as possible, ie the bosses cannot stop blinking. If you try at these parts and just can't get them to stop blinking, I will gladly assist you by doing the boss fights(in the mega man x2 video bosses didn't stop blinking unless it was unavoidable). This should look incredible.

You can get to Lavos right from the millenial fair, no? or is that just in new game +. I think there are other paths to him between that event and the end of time too(unless those are new game + as well)
