For the 30-minute Terran mission, I think it might be possible to survive without building any additional units beyond the ones you start with. Remember, in a TAS, any attack or defense force should be almost unbeatable unless you are extremely outnumbered. Of course it would be a major pain in the ass to do the level that way, making sure no units are ever harmed borders on ludicrous. But it might be possible. Maybe. Then again, probably not. In that case, just annihilate the Zerg as quickly as possible, then play around with your marines, placing them in weird formations and stuff like that. Edit: In the PC version, you start with 16 marines, 3 vultures, and 3 SCVs. Plus you have 2 bunkers and 3 missle turrets. I'm guessing it should be about the same in the N64 version. Hardly an impressive force, though I'm still not convinced it's impossible.

Okay, I completed all 10 puzzles, after figuring out a good starting strategy. Yay for me. 5-8 were extremely easy, though. The way to do it is this: First, just fill up all spaces. Then, view the square from the top and remove all blocks that aren't in the top view. Then view the square from the front view and remove all blocks that aren't in that view. Then do the same for the side view. You'll end up with a shape that represents possible positions for blocks, there won't be any blocks where you don't have any blocks now. Then just figure out which blocks are redundant, and remove them. Simple, right? The last puzzle requires a slightly different strategy, though.

Hmm, I'm sure everyone knows about Cave Story, so I won't even mention that. Oops.

Rogue Security Bot defeated in 2 seconds was hilarious. @52:49, I like how you show to the audience that this block is a powerbomb block and can't be destroyed by a normal bomb. You make Nightmare look like a total cakewalk. I had such a hard time defeating it myself. Overall, I would have voted yes if I had bothered to watch before the AVI was made. Very nicely done. See you next mission!

The movie ratings are totally useless, so who cares.

While reading this thread, I have decided to call "FF7" Double-F-seven from now on. I have always imagined "NES" to be pronounced "nes", though by now I realize the 'correct' interpretation seems to be "essennie-ess". Likewise, "SNES", instead of being pronounced "snes", seems to be supposed to be interpreted as "essennie-ess". I always pronounced "TMNT as "tmnt". Yes, not even one syllable. I guess that's wrong. But really, who cares. See fourth paragraph for possible clarification of this weirdness of mine. Oh, and until now, I always thought "acmlm" was actually "acalm" or maybe "acalmam" or something along those lines. Often, if I haven't heard some word pronounced in sound, I make up my own internal "interpretation" of the sound, that may or may not be pronouncable in the real-world. Of course I often don't even let go of that internal interpretation even if I hear the word pronounced. Also, I often edit posts. I sometimes think I should maybe spend more time composing the post in the first place. Oh well.

I have gone back to it a couple times, but not for long. I've done something like 3 levels of world 3.

Huh? Tried pressing right mouse button?
Yeah, I realized that before. But it doesn't matter now, I've completed the game already. Actually, it was probably a good thing I didn't try the right mouse button, since all it does is encourage riskier moves, increasing the chance of death from extremely likely to absolutely certain.

Nice game, but it seems it doesn't like my mouse. It spasms occationally and I lose control. Anyway, if I click too fast, the second click won't do anything. I like to hook and unhook like a crazy man in those games. Also, there's no way to let go of the rope, for some nice air time, which would be extremely fun. More comments as I play more. Edit: Okay, it's really annoying me how I can't click to my heart's content. Also, I reached a cave with some treasure chests and a rainbow, which seems to be the end. Yay, I guess I won the game. Edit 2: okay, I guess there *is* a way to let go of the rope. Stupid me.

‭‮Okay, I understand now. At first I thought everyone was just posting backwards messages, but then I researched a little and found out the secret. It is a weird secret, too. Really, really, really weird. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. Edit: wait a minute, am I using a different method from everyone else? I don't see the that strange thing that reverses the text in any other post. Hmm. Even my signature reversed. That makes my post way cooler than any other in this thread. (another edit: Nevermind, it was me who was not doing something quite right. Don't worry, though, all is well now)

Doesn't Doki Doki Panic require each character to complete every level individually, so you can't complete a level, then do the next level with a different character? (unless that character has already completed the previous level)

I wonder how many hours it must have taken to calibrate that thing so it would strike every time. Very nice.

There's a village somewhere named after me. There are some other sites, but mostly it's me. Oh look, some guy on a random site about golf is using my username. Google images turns up someting about "Pink hair fanlisting", which I have absolutely no idea what means. La la la la la.

I have hundreds of avi files all over several hard drives. I'll just do a search and report how much space they all take. Okay done. 1280 files ~174 GB total And that's only .avi files, I'm sure there are some .mpg and even .wmv files as well. But who cares about those.

Now that I've FINALLY been able to watch the movie, I must say it is a shame that the awesome greatness of this game don't really shine very much in a TAS like this. However, it was very well done and for those who know the game inside-out, is probably extremely entertaining. I was able to follow the 'action' by reading the route description in the submission text. I think this might be one of those games where optional subtitles (to briefly explain WTF is happening) could really enhance the viewing experience. I think this should be published even though it was just a little bit boring at some parts. I know it really can't be helped.

Oh boy, this will be a treat. A whole world of new games enter the fray. I can't wait to see this, and what a great choice for a first PC TAS.

For NES 1-0 : select savestate slot S : save state Delete : load state Tab : advance frame Space : pause/unpause A and B are set to X and C, up/down/left/right are set to the arrow buttons and start/select is set to , and .. Savestate 1 is usually at the beginning of the level, then I use 2-6 incrementally. 0 is used for special circumstances and 7-9 is used whenever I don't want to overwrite any other states.

I don't know about you guys, but I have a horrible urge to pick at that thing. I have a feeling it is fake, however - I mean wouldn't that guy sand or even eat those growths away as they formed? It looks like it's made of the same stuff as our nails, so it's not like it would hurt (much). Sucks to be him if it's real, though. I thought I had it bad with those lesion-things that form on my hand that I can easily make go away with a special cream. Here's to modern medicine!

I would love to be able to do that. Would be very handy, too, if you ever found yourself in a bondage situation.
