Hold on, hold on, hold on. You voted down my Carmen Sandiego run, which did the exact same thing. Only mine was clearly better because it did it 80 times.
I was kidding. This is obviously an April Fool's submission. Your movie was very technically impressive, but I found it quite boring. It's too repetitive, like you said, the same thing 80 times. Your Beetle Mania TAS is very technically impressive too, but the result is watching similar combos for around 45 minutes. It's great you wrote a bot that can complete an NES game (and an SNES minigame), but I don't think those runs should be published to a site that hosts entertaining TASes because they're not entertaining.
WHAT!? This is an outrage! I cannot fathom anyone not being entertained by my quality runs!

For those of you with a copy of the ROM, I've unlocked Challenge Mode in the minigame. Enjoy! (I have a few other scripts in mind, but please shoot more ideas my way.)

Here's an easy (well, relatively speaking...) question I've been working on in my spare time: What is the probability of finding a particle in a quantum harmonic oscillator inside the classically forbidden region? This is a classic question in quantum mechanics if it's specified that the particle is in the lowest energy eigenstate. I make no such restriction. I would like to know the probability as a function of the energy quantum number, n, and if the math is conducive to it, perhaps as a function of the (complex) coefficients in the energy/number basis for a mixed state. I especially would like to know an approximating function to the rate of convergence of the probability (presumably to zero) as a function of n. I've already got a Mathematica script working and I've made good progress, but a few other things are on my plate at the moment. Anyone else want to jump in on this?

Why would it take him that long to respond? Doesn't he check his submission every day to answer questions?

I had intended to submit on April Fools', but you'll just have to deal with an early submission. This is totally going to draw a thousand 'no' votes by itself! I'll more or less be unavailable for a day or two, right around this date, so that's why the submission now.

I'm also waiting for an encode. This should be good. The absence of an encode pushed me to download and tediously set up lsnes in order to watch your run. I don't know anything about this game, but I found this pretty entertaining. I'm not sure why you control both characters though. It would be more impressive if Bowser was a computer player and you barely won against him. Could you explain why you do this? Abstaining from voting until I get an answer.

The genius here is that the preview frame on the YouTube video is the Quality Assurance credits.

Despite this being submitted as an April Fool's run, I found it entertaining and well made. The ending was worth watching unspoiled. It's worth publishing. Great job!
I'm not entirely sure it's an April Fool's run...

I used to do that. But this happens fairly often, and I can't control where people host their avatars or what your browser decides is blacklisted on any given day. So in the end, it isn't worth it. Of course it would be easy for a user to determine the offending avatar and contact that particular user <_<
Point taken. I'll do so if it happens again.

At the very least Twilight (flashback in season 1) and Rarity (present day in season 2) have had their parents shown. It's not that they don't exist, it's just that the primary cast are old enough to live on their own, and do. Besides, having parents within arm's reach makes for less interesting stories.
Don't forget Pinkie Pie's parents. Word of God(dess) is that Applejack's parents are supposed to be dead, but that won't fly on a show for little girls, so they're just never mentioned.

Hi guys, I'm new here to TASvids, I already know how to TAS and I've made a few test ones now. I'm 13 years old by the way. But can you suggest what I could TAS first? I'm short in Ideas... :< Here's a list of projects I want to do. Which could be ideal to tas first for a newbie? PSX Megaman 8 DS Super Mario 64 DS (fastest route and 150 stars & all rabbits) GEN Mega Man: The Wily Wars (Wily Tower) WII Mega Man 9 WI Super Mario Galaxy DS New Super Mario Bros (All levels) DS Pokemon Diamond/Pearl (no tweaking glitch) A bit of problem though is Dolphin Emulator runs a bit slow. So I won't be doing that soon. Besides that, are any of those games good for a newbie TAS?
Welcome aboard! Since your games are all very popular, you might have trouble TASing them while having an edge on more experienced runners. I recommend you start by TASing just one level in one of those games and posting to the appropriate topic. You'll get lots of feedback-- probably mostly critical, but that's okay! From there, it's up to you whether you want to continue running the game or pick a simpler game to run. I can only urge you not to get too absorbed in running a single game without consulting with more experienced runners first. Enjoy your stay!

Like adelikat said, it's emulating the powerful GameCube and Wii consoles. Your computer will need a lot of processing power (a faster prcoessor) to carry out all of the calculations the game sends it. According to the Dolphin Compatibility List, a lot of testers who use an Intel Core-i7 processor report 100% on most games, so I would recommend that processor if you're considering upgrading to a new computer and you want to TAS (or even run) games at full speed.
But the internet assured me that the GameCube and Wii are terrible and weak consoles! I don't know who to believe anymore! I just want to fit in!

Please, no more goat herding! You were actually making progress! In all seriousness, do as you please. My stance (which is everyone's stance, whether they realize it or not) is that there is an inherent tradeoff between how much effort you put into something and how many frames it will save, and this tradeoff must be acknowledged and respected. If 20 hours could be spent herding goats to save 10 frames but those same 20 hours could just as well be spent making small optimizations throughout the run to save 100 frames, I think it's clear what should be done. You can't squeeze blood from a stone-- you're never going to save more than a handful of additional frames herding goats. If you think it's worth it to you and you have the stamina to optimize that portion of the game, by all means, herd goats. I'd like to see a finished run, however, even if it's slightly suboptimal.

I'd like to add that pretty much anyone can get editor rights just by asking.
Speaking of asking, you can probably also get an idea of what the latest tricks are just by asking TASers for a "state of the run address". It might be time consuming, but I for one would be overjoyed to hear that someone is anticipating my run and would gladly answer any questions.
