+subtitles that overlap gameplay (but do not obscure it) + subtitles closer to the beginning of the video than elsewhere + splashscreen at the beginning of the movie My current favorite wording is "This tool-assisted demo does not challenge any existing speed records. / It is a demonstration only; it was not played in real-time. / For more information, see Why&How." This would last 1 second per each of the 3 sections, which don't need to be next to each other. The author information, time, and number of rerecords would also be separate and somewhere at the beginning of the action. But that mgiht be voerdoing it?

Petitions to change either the meaning of TAS, or the name itself often remind me of the gay marriage / civil union debate. In the eyes of the court, they are exactly the same.
Civil unions don't offer federal marriage benefits (in the US at least). What should rather be done is marriage itself be renamed 'civil union', leaving the word 'marriage' the sole right of religious institutions, who would then no longer care about such laws. But that's not what we're discussing.

..anyway, the name isn't going to change, espeically now that we have the domain tasvideos.org. But I'm still a big proponent of using the word "demo" or "demonstration" somewhere in the name, were it ever to be changed.

Red Scarlet there had another good suggestion. "Optimal Gameplay Demo" or "Optimal Play Demo", as in, "This Optimal Gameplay Demo was created using tool-assistance. See Why&How for details." Edit: or even "This Optimal Gameplay Demo was not made in real-time. See Why&How for details."

So ask on the GameFAQs board for the game. This isn't such community.

I absolutely know what you're talking about when you use strange acronyms and reference things that are impossible.

1. From start, head right and activate the warp point under the tower. 2. Head all the way east and get the pink ball without hitting another warp point. 3. Warp to the tower and switch to the pink ball. 4. Climb the tower and get the iron ball.
It's supposedly possible to get into and complete the tower with ball #1, making ball 2 useless. 1 -> 3 -> 5, then use 5 for everything that you need to jump high.

It's kind of sad that none of the mini-puzzles in the last dungeon use ball 5 in any of the three solutions.

You already don't need mouse. You can select balls with numbers, and you can select "the ball I was before I died or suicided" with enter key.

I think I have encountered a severe bug. I go to a cyberspace-esque area after getting ball 4 (before 3), but the level itself is actually way different from the one shown on the screen. Is this intentional or am I screwed?
All the information is actually there, you just have to think about it a little. There are two or three places like that if I remember correctly, but they might just be different sections of one long maze. To solve one of them you need ball 3...

It's supposedly possible to beat the game without balls 2 and 4 but I can't even imagine how to use ball 1 to get some places. Ball 5 is the absolute most fun to use.

http://nifflas.ni2.se/?page=Within+a+Deep+Forest This is a fun and wonderful game. With a little rubber ball. And Metroid-style exploration. Yay! I completed it on Normal and unlocked the two secret games.. there's a speedrun mode I'm not touching though.

In the Japanese version any level can raise any stat, so you can't decline a level because there's um no reason to.

Aww, you ended Quiz #1 while I was asleep! From the asnwers page I would have gotten 9 points, 13 if I cheated by using the answers other people told me after I told them what I knew. Haha, for #8 I knew who the composer was but not what game it was from. OK I'll do quiz #2 now.

I recognise 1 and 2 but I can't name the games... and 5 as well, and I'm pretty sure I know 8 but I'm going to need to check my soundtracks. And I recognise 9 and 10 as well but still no names ;_; The others I can honestly say I've not heard before, but these I'm pretty sure I have so I need to scour the soundtracks of the games I think they're from and see what turns up. So, current self-estimating score is 2 for both answers to #8, but I think I can do better (or worse if my intuition is false).

I think this is true but I also think your EXP reverts to 0 when forced to rt so I think you would end up being forced to level up LIFE rather than ATTACK.

According to the GameFAQs thread the X-ray scope is useless because nothing you didn't already know about is revealed by it.
