Bisqwit, how did you make a bot play that 8 seconds for you? Was it something like patching the emulator to try all possible combinations of inputs from some state, stopping if a goal like x bombs dropped? That seems like it would be difficult, especially the goal recognition.
That's it exactly. The goal state was looking for certain values at certain memory locations which corresponded to those events. The full code is at the discussion topic in the NES forum.

Yes, that's the point. Doing your Zelda 3 video will take time and effort that could be better invested elsewhere. If you do not respond in kind there is no reason to do it. Please post your improved Zelda 4 run when it's done. I will respond within one week fo that with the Zelda 3 demo video.

You have the walkthrough, right? Just follow it and record while doing so. Viola, demo video.

Yes. I will voluntarily leave this forum forever if you make a Zelda 4 video following the rules of this community that obsoletes DonamerDragon's and I do not respond within the week with a Zelda 3 demonstration video following the walkthrough you posted.

Then your video is useless to me and I see no reason to make your Zelda 3 video, which is equally useless to me.

Can screen warping be allowed?
Yes, if you insist on a Zelda 4 video, you may use warping. But if you do please get a final time of under 4 minutes 28 seconds. If you improve the existing Zelda 4 video I will make for you this Zelda 3 video.

Yes, I agree. You can find everything you need in this topic. Because it's a proof-of-concept video it does not need to be perfect, but please follow the path outlined there and attempt to find optimal strategies (like shortest walking path etc) and please do not win any random battles (gaining EXP will throw off the route).

I'm sorry, but I'm having a lot of trouble understanding you. What step are you having trouble with? What is it that you want? And what "substitute"? EDIT: I like Walker Boh's suggestion. I will do your video if you do mine (FF5, up to the end of world 1, using my video as a starting point and following the path I've outlined in the FF5 thread).

No, I'm sorry. We cannot help you with "the entire chapter three". Please post a specific step which you do not understand and we will explain it, then if you later get stuck at a later step you may ask for clarification of THAT step.

Please cease your rude and unreasonable demands. You expect someone to spend however long recording a video, encoding it, finding a host, uploading it, etc., when you won't read a single paragraph of English text explaining why that's unfeasable for a single user who doesn't ask nicely OR offer incentive?

Which part of chapter 3 is giving you trouble? Perhaps we may be of assistance to you in a way that does not require us to make a video for you.

Here is a video demonstrating a glitch in Zelda 1. You can see many examples of both correct and glitched screen scrolling, for example, seconds 48-50.

The "screen scroll" refers to the graphical effect of a room transfer. Normally, Link will be immobile and will cross from one side of the TV screen to the other whilst the background changes to show the new room. Because the new room "scrolls" across the screen, the transfer effect is called "screen scroll". In this case, it means move up until you see the graphical effect, despite the room not neccessarily updating to the correct set of graphics. EDIT: In the future can you pelase only post the ONE specific thing you have trouble with, rather than posting that whole thing and then asking about step 33 only? And pelase ask for help rather than a video.

"Yes", meaning "I can't do the first step"? Or "yes" meaning "I know what room it means"? Please stop using such ambiguous language.

The entire chapter, by which you mean the first step of the chapter? You know what room it's talking about right?

Wait, you mean they planned for you to play as Knuckles before he existed? Or do you mean the link changes some level layouts so there's more to find?
The first. During development of Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 they added those areas in but then blocked them off for some reason, but in S&K they included the code that let Knuckes open them. (this is from memory, reading an interview that was published back when S&K came out, so I might be a little wrong, but I remember it saying that when they put that stuff in (2) they didn't know when or whether it would actually be used).

If you connect the Sonic 2 cart to the Sonic & Knuckles cart (there's room to plug another cart on top), you'll unlock "Sonic 2 & Knuckles", in which Knuckles is a selectable cahracter. There are also some extra levels and the like.
