It's a deal. PM me and we'll work out the details, but I would like enough lemon bars to last me 6 people 2 days PLUS a New York style cheesecake with a graham-cracker crust. You send first, I begin making the video upon arrival.

Cookies? Well, now you're talking. How about lemon bars? Do you do other baked goods? Cheesecake?

4 minutes from reset? Because if I'm not mistaken we already have a 4:28 version.

Because of the way the RNG works I think the movie won't be changed at all if someone hexes an "animation off" in there somewhere. Personally I think the comparison should be number of turns, not realtime, so animations can stay.

Damage per swordstrike is 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24. At the moment I can't find the HP table, but here's a spell cost table: http://www.adventureisland.org/adv1/zel2dt2.html

I'll give it a shot but I'm a non-native speaker. I'm filling in a lot of context here so this translation will be in spirit rather than literal, OK? If you actually want to know what it says you should ask someone else, but this is close enough tog et the gist of it. Wasted time in days of yore... September 20, 2005. Classic DOS Games Say that when you're with an engineer and you'll have to choke down a story about how everything was the best in the good-ol' days of the PC era. BASIC Magazine this.. acoustic coupler that.. this one time, I was loading from tape... Those who don't know it will definitely never understand these stories, but the rest remember that strangeness fondly. Whatever the age, it seems so enjoyable to talk about your memories of that bygone time. If you think like that, just seeing "Classic DOS Games" will make you happy. This site collects cherished games of old that need DOS to run. Descent, Heretic, Wacky Wheels... it's so nostalgic... If you have DOS (I know you're out there) you should try it out. Whenever I try to remember just what I wasted my time on back then, I wonder if we can ever make stuff like the things we had at that time. * There is no excuse for today's article catering exclusively to hobbyists. Classic DOS Games http://www.classicdosgames.com/ A site that archives DOS games.

Why not search for their HP values in RAM?
While I have no idea where the HP would be stored, I do have a max-enemy-HP table and a damage-per-swordstrike table, which would help in finding it.

Oh wait, now your flailing has a purpose, and $5 says that 2 foot cord running the two halves of the controller starts fraying and breaks/snaps in two in less than 3 months
The left-hand part (analog stick and Z1/Z2 triggers) is actually an extra part that plugs into the bottom of the read controller (the remote-looking part). Apparently you don't need it at all for some games, and you need other connected thingies for others. (note that at least one of these others - yet to be seen - is apparently a more standard controller "shell", possibly for fighting games and platformers which would be hard to play with the remote-like setup). So it won't be connected unless a game needs it, and if a game needs it the motion-sensing won't be extreme (the demo that used both was Metroid Prime, where the motion sensing replaced look, and the analog replaced movement).

Hey um... can you send me a similar link for mega man games? I tried looking for it, but I couldn't seem to find it. If it's not to much trouble.
Rockman music - at least in the classic series - rarely has track names. Actually, as far as I know, only the X7+ X-series games, Zero-series games, and a handful of others have track titles.

Not everybody finds it easy.
Those people + practice = easy game. Then they try other Metroid games, and at first those are hard, too, but they use the skills they got here to do those. And those become easy too. It's like that with all skill-based games. So you can always get better with practice... but if you get too good, the only thing left is to create challenges for yourself like "100%" or "minimum" or "timeattack" in order to keep it hard. Having a harder game in the first place is another method.

Why don't you make a hack to make the game EASIER for a change
..because the original's already easy, so why bother? It's like adding a "win game" button to Mario. Isn't holding right and hitting A occasionally already enough?

What I thought was more interesting to know is what differs a rom of the same game from another? Like a PRG0 and PRG1 version etc.
By definition, it's the location of the programming (rather than sprite data) in the ROM. PRG0 has the code as the first thing, PRG1 has it in the second thing. So there doesn't neccessarily have to be any visible changes in the game.

..smarter AI? That values APCs and transport helicopters more than any other unit, so you can feint an "attack" with such a cheap and useless unit to let your main strike force go forward unopposed?

The best thing that you can do is get the Cinqueda weapon which allows you to learn Steal Ability. Plus you can get it VERY early in the game and make the game a lot easier.
...that takes hours to do though. It's quicker to play through without the abilities than to level to 20-something in whatever to get the weapon.

And to be specific, I'm thinking of the regular All-Stars, not All-Stars + World, since SMW already has its own section, and it wasn't at all changed by being added to All-Stars, whereas the other games are improved graphically.
World was changed slightly, giving Luigi distinct sprites from Mario and a few other minor tweaks.

Silly goose, puctuation goes inside of quotation marks.
This silly rule, created by typesetters, only applies to commas and periods and has no place in modern society. The European (and hacker) convention is to quote only quoted material (gasp!) so this is falling out of favor.

It's a pirate game, and an edit of another game called "Thunder Blast Man" (which is also a pirate game). Never played it though.

Euh, I should stop setting deadlines. I got the Fire Ship only just now, so that means 1) get Black Shock, 2) get Black Chokobo, 3) go to Lix, 4) buy Jutsu, 5) return to Library, 6) kill Sandworm, before I feel justified in posting it. .....I shouldn't be doing anything Thursday? maybe? Or definitely over the weekend.

Ah..~~ delay that by a day. I got carried away in Command Mission and finished the game.. then got the Ultimate Armor and some Supra fragments, and then, and then, and then...... and then it was waay too late to do FF5! So I'll do it tomorrow. Maza, Thanks very much for the quicksand map! I thnk you're right, that once all the directions are on it it'll be easy to see which way is the fastest.

Err, not the flying fortress but the place with King Tycoon... I don't know the quickest route to trigger all his appearances and let me continue into Catapult.
