What would be hard about it? Grab Zero in some easy level that also provides a weapon that can kill Himax (like Grand Scarabich, so you can also pick up Speedster), then go into any other level with Zero and kill Himax, then go to Gate's Lab with Zero and win. Edit: Shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. X5 can be done even faster. Edit 2:

Well yes it's possible to PLAY the game, but these cd images are around the neighbourhood of 600-700MB. Making everyone who wants to view the timeattack need to speed alot of time downloading.
Or.. um.. own the game. It shouldn't be more than $15 if you can find it.

Can anyone explain the glitch more indepth? :p
1. Cast Reflect (or whatever it is). 2. Cast it again. It will bounce and hit an enemy. Now the enemy has Reflect. 3. Cast a magic at the enemy. It will bounce and hit a party member. If the party member dies, the other party members (who killed it, obviously) get experience for the kill... which turns out to be, because of a glitch (you shouldn't be able to kill your party members in the first place), much, much more than most monsters give.

re: 100% completion How would you define such a thing? All items? all stat upgrades? re: fisherman's Red Jewel It's dependent on the frame you enter the town so you can force it to trigger the first time you go outside, grab it, then go into the cave for the event there, no problem.

There should be a 50 Red Jewel run and a fastest completion run.. the only planning difficulties are which groups of enemies to kill (for the stat ups) and when to trade Freedan's attack power for Tim's speed. (obviously most of the time you are forced to use one or the other, and after you get Shadow you kind of have to use him).

Classes and playtesting happened, so I haven't worked on it. When I catch up on all my work and get back in the swing of things I'll continue.

both were indeed amazing games. They play very similarly because they were both made by Tri-Ace.
I thought ToP was made by Namco.
At the time, tri-Ace was Namco's Wolf Team. Shortly after finishing ToP they left, formed tri-Ace, and made Star Ocean.

I LOVE THIS GAME. Also, Treasure Island Dizzy. Are there any other Dizzy/Yolkfolk games on NES?

Kickmaster is a great game. I don't know how many people know about it though.

If you're not using mages, the class upgrades are useless. Their most added benefit is more MP and higher spell levels earlier.

Monks and Mages are only useful after being leveled, which you don't have the luxury of doing. If I were you I'd make a Fighter and some other people, then kill them off. Maybe 2 Fighters and some others that get killed of. Then subsist on weapons & armor from chests and the like, and manipulate luck to survive insta-kill stuff.

Does the steps to a random encounter reset when you access the menu, or am I thinking of a different game? I'm sure a menu access takes less time than a battle if that's the case.

Also, do you think the Excalibur / the Rat-tail side-quest / optional summons side-quests are really worth doing, time-wise? I don't think the single thing you get from doing each of these can save as much time as it takes to do the side-quest.
Excalibur is dupable for consistent damage-capping via Throw.

TwinGalaxies forum (the scoreboard is mostly out of date, I believe) and SDA are your best bets. Though you should be researching any game you plan to run online anyway.

Why the Wars series? At least in AW and AW2, the AI is predictable so optimal routes can be performed by humans.

..for limited definitions of "incredible". For a more general use, see "Mike Portnoy". Meanwhile, just today I got my signed copy of bôa's Twilight in the mail. I am proud to be a fan of a band with 5 percussionists, 5 guitarists, and a string quartet. Amoung others.

I was referring to things that cause NES games to run significantly differently in the emulator than on a real console, as in - character climbs twice the normal speed, etc. These are things that are inherent to the game programming logic, not to the emulator.
So why, in Rockman X running in zSNES, does a full subtank restore 16 HP instead of 28? Of course there can be bugs in an emulator that affect game logic. This just isn't one of them.

Fastest time to goal is doable, though I agree that "largest size" is kind of silly, as there are a finite number of objects in each level.

What are the exact criteria for a movie to get published?
Faster than existing non-TAS records, assuming speed is the goal. Cleaner / more entertaining / faster than any other TAS video with the same objectives. Played to a certain level of precision (no extremely obvious and easily-corrected mistakes that distract the viewer from enjoying the movie). The votes don't actually mean anything, they're just so that the encoders get a good idea of whether to even bother with a run, or whether to encode for a game unfamiliar to them because the community IS familiar and approves.

Did he ever turn on the animation? (it's always-on for boss battles) Anyway, I agree that Ogre Battle was awesome. I think it definitely needs subtitles in any final release though, lots of things go by too fast for me to realise what happened until later ^_^;;

It's Epiphany so I'll start working on this again today or tomorrow. It shouldn't be very hard to see the movie through to the end of Ancient Library by the end of the week.

Have you tried not needing the car? That seems to be the simplest solution. If your car is giving you trouble because of maintenance, sell the car.
