That was amusing! Loved the decapitated mario image in between levels too.

Lol I was thinking about it, but the game is just so terrible. Also been tasing this other game with someone which turned into a MUCH larger project then expected so no time in any case.

Yes vote despite the problems inherent with rpg speedruns in general (no story really since you cannot read the text, completely focusing on objective). The best fights are the ones earlier on, while the later ones become pretty much a punch fest and just running around.

It's based on a flash game that went viral in 2014. The best way to learn how it works is to play it here: https://play2048.co/
Thanks I will check it out.

A lot of these homebrews that come out for ancient systems are high quality. Makes for a good looking tas too. Yes vote.

Good tas. Really like the high speed combined with the stated quirkiness of the game.

To be honest it was a bit difficult to watch, because I am so unfamiliar with the game. However based on the strats and description I think anyone passingly familiar with the game would like it a lot.

Ok thank you for the responses. There is not a much of a community since it is a relatively new homebrew so I was thinking more for the tas community. For which I understand that it depends on the content being cut. In this case the content is...mixed. The first half of the cut content is fun to watch imo, but the second half consists of a section with a boring slow character, then having to go through the same exact section yet again with the same character.

Not really sure what is even going on in the game. You jump up and touch the cage and get points? Could you give more detail about how this game works and why this is fast?

This game really seems to need some precise movement and speed. Liked how you dealt with the momentum in those rooms. Yes vote.

Interesting request. Not sure about the publishing, but making it easier to find rejected/cancelled for a game might result in a less of a loss of tricks/glitches. There are a few of those cases where a wrong setting or something would cause a game to get rejected for an otherwise perfectly acceptable tas. Those seem to be lost in gruefood.

Another person and I are working on a tas and we have been wondering about how to get a better community response to our tas. Specifically whether to use a death to skip a large portion of a level or to go through it deathless. Typically which is looked upon more favorably?

I am curious how it would work in the site. Is that fleshed out at all? As in how would I submit this? Instead of "Submit a Movie" would that maybe be split to a "Submit for Publication" and a "Submit to Playground" button? Then essentially the same flow as a normal submission?

Nice tas! Makes me want to get this game now. Also it would be a shame if a high quality tas like this was rejected by overly strict rules. Heck for most games I consider a game beaten when the big bad is taken down. Unless there is something like an important Escape Sequence, everything after the last boss, including credits is just gravy.

Going with a Meh. While this is a good example of TAS playing the levels and bosses all feel very samey. Also the game is excessively slow and laggy.

I can answer a few of those. The battle hopping is switching to the next character. In the final boss fight, skipping everyone's turn leads to a stamina refill as well. The -3 (+x in general) matters in the damage elements do, the bonus (or malus) is 12.5% * x. It does not matter for status magic though, so strengthen can be -3 no problem. Viper Manor I'm quite sure you have to find the code, which is random. In Marbule there are two shops next to each other. One sells normal elements, the other sells traps. I can't remember where the trap is used tho. I can't say about the final boss strat.
Good explanations!

Ah that was funny. Liked how each enemy was either avoided or completely crushed. I really enjoyed Chrono Cross back in the day. it did several things very well or uniquely and I respected that. However once the story started to get shounen manga crazy and incredibly convoluted I had started to get lost. Too many characters prevented good character growth or focus. The best ending felt extremely incomplete and was just some text about taking care of the world and had no character focus. Now that I am done reminiscing I have a couple questions. Sometimes a character will hop in place during battle. Is that supposed to be some sort of attack cancel? Does -3 on the Color Magic make any difference from if it was -2 or -1? 34:00 In the Viper Manor do you have to actually find out the clues to the snake statue turning puzzle to continue? 1:14:15 It looks like you go back into the shop twice to buy? At the final boss why do you use multiple different types of Color Fill magic? Enjoyed watching the crazy damage after using color fills and high muscle buff on the character and then color fill on an enemy! Yes vote by the way.
