If you're already going into the menu anyway to turn of hints (which everyone, including me, seems to agree should be turned off), turning of the helmet as well should be a trivial addition. I don't really care either way, but go ahead.

This run is goddamn excellent. I especially liked the new strategy for the single wall wall jumping, and the perfect core-x fights. The pausing was kind of annoying but not too distracting overall, we really need to figure out how the RNG works properly someday. Oh, and:

Grr, I tried so hard to find something like this when I got to end of my 0% run. This would have allowed me to break 40 minutes :'(. I was sort of getting worried about your supposed 0% run, but after seeing this I'm confident you'll handle it way better than I would have been able to. This is really really well done.

The emulator issue is really unfortunate. I really enjoyed the run that was there, and the boss fights weren't really that interesting anyway (and as I recall, the final boss in particular is a letdown). I'm going to have to vote yes despite not actually finishing the game. If it does get published it's going to need a decently sized disclaimer, but I would be fine with that.

I just follow Equestria Daily. There's A LOT of fan content still popping up all over the place. Should be enough to keep one sane at least ;).

I really don't see why we're trying to invalidate someone's opinion. I personally would consider watching a run that I suspected I would not enjoy (and is an hour long) a waste of time. But time is something everyone is entitled to use however they like. Is the reason for watching the run even relevant? If that's how he felt about the run, that's how he felt about run.

All I know is that there is a fairly small japanese fanbase, with fansubs and stuff. You can check out these articles for more info: http://everfreeradio.com/?p=2411 http://everfreeradio.com/?p=2746

To be fair, I strongly believe that a notable part of the ones that enjoy the show do so more because of the community than not. They're most likely not completely aware of this either. Not to say I think anyone actually dislikes the show and just forces themselves through it just to stay part of the community.

I... have fairly conflicting feelings about this. -Uses a cheat code. -Gameplay that does exists is mundane and not entertaining. -The glitch is actually kind of cute. -Run is short enough that the lacking gameplay doesn't have time to become boring. I think I'll have to give this a 'meh'.

I've always heard "So long Dear Bowser". But that doesn't really make sense I guess.

The Suitless segment should be fine with walljumping, I don't have the game available at the moment so I'm not completely sure, just using the latest run and measuring by eye. Some parts looked kind of borderline, but it's hard to tell since power grip is always faster than walljumping so it's used way more. I do understand the design decision behind forcing you to have power grip, because of how they placed it, way out in another area, after a hidden item (plasma beam) even. It's just done in a really silly way, not sure how they would force you to get it otherwise, but eh. Could've put a more important item there or something, like ice beam. And they already force Varia suit on you when you get the full suit (yes that counts as a %, <_< ), they could've forced power grip on you in the suitless part or something. And it's not even in the inventory screen when suitless anyway.

While I do agree with this statement, there probably isn't very much big left to find. We didn't just, y'know, stop exploring because of boredom or something, we just stopped finding things. This game is a lot more robust than SM is. Lowering the minimum percentage in particular would require some pretty serious glitching. The only theory that seems remotely plausible is early power bombs, but it's been debunked several times already. Not to say that nothing is ever going to happen, or that anyone trying is an idiot. Just... don't get your hopes up.

Good shit, man. The bosses were clearly the highlight of the run, but Tourian came out great too, easy yes vote.

At least Pinkie Pie has mentioned several times that she "knows everyone in Ponyville", in the first episode no less. And in A Friend in Deed was shown on good terms with quite a few Ponies. Applejack's way of business doesn't seem to go farther than selling goods at stands, which sure should build a few relations but not terribly so I think. Also, her family is pretty big :P. Rarity's situation is kind of odd I guess, but there doesn't seem to be many "upper class twit friends" for her to socialize with in Ponyville, she does go to a ton of parties and stuff in Canterlot during Sweet and Elite. She's also kind of a workaholic, no time for friends yo! And I don't know about you but my friend circles tend to stay separate *shrug*.

You're doing progress really fast, man. Finally took the time to watch the WIP and it's looking good so far, keep it up (b^^)b. And yes, Chozodia in general isn't very resource intensive so it should be comparatively easy, Mecha Ridley should still be interesting though.

I've never had to deal with it so i don't really know. I want to remember P.J writing up something about it somewhere, but I can't find it now :S.

Guys, guys, Lesson Zero is clearly the best this season, I don't know what you're talking about. And I quite enjoyed It's About Time, paranoid Twilight is always hilarious.

We could totally switch versions, that's the only difference aside from languages I know of in (E) (missile blocks do NOT respawn), being portable and all. For the record, I have discussed this with various people before, and it probably isn't a good idea. Even though Mother Brain's room would look dope.

Are you a bad enough dude to attempt 9% hard? :D Nah, but in all seriousness, I've started a 9% a couple of times, but I've realized I just don't have the time to do stuff anymore :(. That said, I believe, PJ dropped his run and nobody else has started one. It's pretty much straight up the current any% route with a few harder bomb jumps (lol Rio room) and more rigorous ammo management. There's not much to recconsider afaik.

Just chipping in that I also dislike fast-forwarding in any kind of speedrun, and having already played the game multiple times and watched numerous runs, shorter cutscenes do sound inviting. That said, I haven't actually watched it yet so I don't actually know to what degree the faster text alleviates the problem.

"Derpy Hooves" is a character that, before that episode, was exclusively a background character that didn't speak and wasn't named. She had crossed eyes (some say it was originally an animation error, some say it was an intentional easter egg) and appeared overall fairly clumsy and awkward, in a sweet and humorous way. The community created their own character out of this, including a peculiar love for muffins, a job as a "mailmare" and a daughter. She's really popular, almost rivaling the main characters. Supposedly, the creators has acknowledged that Derpy was popular in the community and has included her in several episodes just for the hell of it. This is more pronounced in season 2. In "The last roundup" she is at last referred to by name as "Derpy" (the name she was supposed to have was supposedly "Ditzy Doo", and she is referenced as this in "Winter Wrap Up" but not visible at the time) and given a voice. Reception was kind of mixed but mostly positive. A few days ago the episode mysteriously disappeared from iTunes and a lot of Derpy merchandise was suddenly unavailable. There was a lot of concern that that some people found the character offensive and Hasbro had decided to chicken out and remove Derpy from the show. Come yesterday(I think, not very long ago though) the episode reappeared with this edited scene. Original version of the scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCUT-KHWeec Changes that I noticed: Name removed (that part of the dialogue sounds really awkward now), Eyes underped, voice changed to more feminine (I can kind of understand this as Tabitha herself has said she mistakenly thought the character was male. I didn't really like the original voice that much either, but it is decisively worse now IMO).

I see your point Bobo. Though I'd say that At the Gala does the exact same thing (tells us through song something we, as followers of the show, already know(they're really excited about going to the gala) as a setup for a later point), but I guess I'm not surprised you ranked that low too then^^. I really won't put Smile! above Find a Pet, Art of the Dress or Winter Wrap Up musically. I just get this unbridled sense of warmth and joy from it. And since Party of One, I constantly think of Pinkie's almost unnatural urge to please others as more compulsive than anything. So I can't really agree with the uncanny valley comment :P.

So gais, Pinkie's Smile song leaves me in joyful tears whenever I hear it. <3 this show.

To be fair, there has been a lot of Rainbow Dash too. Personally, I'm more concerned about the notable lack of Fluttershy the entire season.

I'm not totally sure about labeling a run with 'no zips' and then have a screenshot of the player going through walls. Even if it's not technically a zip, (which actually took a bit of discussion to establish, even among members of this community, consider outsiders) it's the most blatant example of glitching in a run with a label many will read as 'low glitch'. I think something more representative of what the run's about would be more appropriate.
