PHPBB's search feature is worse than worthless. All it tells you is which megathread to go to for your search terms, nothing more specific than that. And too bad if you need to search for a three-letter word.

Is there any way to increase the number of posts per page? It's hard to find anything in the huge threads with just 20 posts per page. Otherwise I need to make a bunch of unnecessary page requests for all 40 pages of the Rockman 2 topic. Or at least let Google index the forum.

The late Disney European NES games were far worse than what the pirates made. For example, compare Licensed Aladdin (E) with "Super Aladdin" from Super Game.

This is one of those games where it would have been awesome had the programmers made a great game to along with the awesome sprites they drew. Anyway, I don't care what the haters think. So what if it's all autoscrollers? Ban Gradius then. The only problem with this TAS was the log ride, you gotta use that B button and lean forward.

Would it have been possible to do it without pokemon who attack with coin flips? That seems like a source of delay.

Did this play at the highest difficulty level? Isn't that supposed to be one of the site's requirements?

Config > Input For port #1, click Configure Assign your joystick presses or keys there. It's really simple, you don't need to bother with keyboard emulation software.

I'd give a no vote, because it's boring.

Did anyone ever make atlas videos of games with status bars? edit: Yes, this is what happens when you post first, research later. There was a SMB3 video, but it was distracting that the coins were not eliminated from the big map.

Someone really needs to go in and put in a scanline-counting high resolution timer, so it can properly vsync without 100% CPU usage. Of course, if it's emulating the NES at the proper speed of 60.01 FPS, then it will need to skip a frame every once every 100 seconds for a monitor at 60Hz.

So you want a 40 minute TAS of the same thing over and over again?

Xena wears armor, nipples don't show through something like that.

I always use VirtualDub for that feature.

Encoding tip: use a motion blur filter to interpolate frames, so you don't have problems related to the frame rate.

Please release a new interim build that fixes problems with the old PPU. For a while, I thought my own NES homebrew project had strange bugs in it while I was trying to debug my drawing code, but they disappeared when I switched to New PPU or an earlier version.

Why is the ROM checksum all zeroes? btw: this desyncs on level 3 if you use the NEW PPU.

Since when is 08EA a real address in the NES's memory space? Or is that just a ROM FILE address?

After the queen came out, then the knight appeared, I expected the scholar's mate. I guess this one is kinda like that. Still needs 2D mode though.

How about just disabling the animations, and switching to 2D mode?

Speed runs timed from gameplay start can not be compared with TASs which time from console bootup.

Fun fact: Super Robin Hood has been released as a single game pirate cartridge, weighing in at 64k.
