100% in my mind would be getting all of Gau's rages (all the possible ones at least), Strago's Lores, and Mog's dances (all the other characters get their abilities more or less naturally, through the story). Gau's rages alone would take a mind-numbingly long time. It's something I would do for myself, but not something I would look for in a TAS. Speaking of which, did they add in Gau's missing rages on the GBA version?

I actually lost a bit of progress tonight somehow (bad savestates or something). I'll have to redo it over and hope I can avoid desynching too bad. If it doesn't work out, it may prolong my run :/

It's not necessary to get life for the underwater part, though ground gargoyle just baaarely makes it both times (have to do the Hand Talisman and Vial on two separate runs of the level due to not having enough vitality). If I wait to get the water crest until later in the game, I could possibly save time actually traveling through the water to grab the vial, but i would waste time not only on unnecessary map movement, but also pausing and switching to the crest in the first place. So it's actually faster to just grab it the second time through level 2. I think there was a proposed route that had the skull bashing game after the first level, but I feel that I would ultimately lose time, especially since I think my new map route flows a lot better.

In the route I have planned, I get the aerial goyle before ever entering level 3, so I don't think anything will change with that... especially since it's a lot faster to use the aerial gargoyle for the part with the spitting platforms and water and owls. The new route, if anyone's curious (this takes advantage of the fact that Belth is weak against ground and that I barely have enough vitality to grab the relics in the water in level 2):
Level 1 -> Somulo -> Vellum 1 -> Hippogriff 1 -> Arma 1
Level 2 -> Ovnunu
Level 2 -> Hand/Vial 1 -> Life Vessel 1 -> Belth
Level 2 -> Hand/Vial 1 -> Vellum 2 -> Life Vessel 2
Level 4 -> Vial 2 -> Hippogriff 2 -> Crown -> Vellum 3 -> Arma 2
Level 4 -> Flier 1
Level 3 -> Vial 3 -> Skull -> Life Vessel 3 -> Flame Lord
(I need to check if that trip to level 3 later is faster to do here or not)
Level 6 -> Vial 4 -> Life Vessel 4 -> Armor -> Flier 2 -> Arma 3
Level 6 -> Vellum 4 -> Grewon1
Level 1 -> Vial 5 -> Life Vessel 5
Head Butt Minigame
Level 5 -> Life Vessel 6 -> Crawler
Level 5 -> Life Vessel 7 -> Life Vessel 8 -> Holothurion
Level 3 -> Vellum 5 -> Life Vessel 9 -> Scula (tentative)
Level 7 -> Hippogriff3 -> Fang -> Life Vessel 10 -> Grewon2 -> Phalanx

I mostly just used trial and error for manipulating bosses. If you do end up recording some things tonight, could you show me what you're talking about with the head butt? Thanks man!

Are you directing the questions at me or at Zurreco? I'm assuming you're watching my run. I'm interested in the head butting trick. Do you mean that you can cancel the animation? The bosses are EXTREMELY manipulated. To the extreme... yo. That's the main allure of the run, if you ask me.

Well, there was explanation, but I didn't make a big deal out of it. Basically, after submitting the run and before it was published, I realized that I had about 30 seconds of improvements to make, including major route changes (especially after discovering that Belth is weak against the ground gargoyle, making it so that I can kill him immediately, rather than waiting until I have Legendary). Anyway, I'll probably have the new run up sometime soon, and it's a lot more entertaining to boot. And there's less pausing and switching gargoyles.

I shall look for the lists and give them to you, probably tomorrow. To change the luck with the nuts, I would change the side of the rope I jumped up. Since it's slightly slower to jump up one side than the other, this can change the frame that you reach the monkey, and save a ton of frames overall not having to wait for the nut (as it will not even be there if you reach the monkey at the right frame). In other words, if the monkey happens to throw his nut while he's in the tiny margin at the top of the screen after the monkey's throw is loaded and before the nut is loaded, no nut will appear. Unless that's not what you're talking about, in which case, I'll probably just talk to you tomorrow about it!

The damn vertical levels are a pain. I may pick this up again, I may not. But Tompa, you're doing well anyway, better than I did in that level. I just really don't want to work on the remaining levels and boss of World 2. After that, I may jump on board again (if that's ok, haha).

World of Warcraft was my downfall at one point (college, health, social skills, sleep all suffered), but I haven't played for about a year now, and have learned my lesson about getting too addicted to something, even a hobby. Admittedly, TASing is something I could get all too addicted too if I let it, but I've been able to keep it in check. Plus jogging every day helps. Also, seconding that D&D is definitely a social and healthy thing, especially if you're DMing, which fuels your creative drive.

Yea that's the one Tompa uploaded. I'm watching it now and it seems REALLY smooth, much more than the other versions.. Barrel Shield Bust-Up was amazing, the run was extremely entertaining. Keep up the good work ; )
Awesome, I'm really glad to hear that the run is enjoyable! Thanks to a fewsuggestions from Tompa I should be able to shave off around 150 frames if the green banana bonuses cooperate. Tompa showed me how to roll through barrels whichsaved a little bit of time... I also touched up a part of Murky Mill thanks to tompa and saved 16 frames there... I also somehow found another17 frames up to the banana bonus in riverside race which is what I'm currently working on. I would post theWIP but I'm away from home posting on a Wii... which also explains why this post may be rambling.

The prescription drugs comment had something to do with a time capsule and Frosted Flakes, something that didn't make sense. Another response I used for that Topic was "Tears and forgotten birthdays."

Let's start things off: there is a new Cops show on the channel G4 (cleverly named COPS 2.0) As far as I know, this is a channel exclusive to digital cable (I could be wrong). Anyway, they have a feature where they ask viewers a question (usually something pertaining to an upcoming segment), and you can go online to their IRC channel and answer the question. To make a long story short, I spent about ten minutes typing increasingly stupid and silly answers to the questions, and was briefly featured on the show for a few fun seconds. I decided to finally snap a photo of one of my responses, but unfortunately only got the latter half of my quote. The question they had up before this one was "Would you lead the cops to your house?" and a few stupid things I said had made it on TV, like "Yes, and I'd show them my baseball card collection." I'm not too sure how they filter the responses, but as long as you keep it clean, you too can enjoy a few pointless minutes of TV fame, and perhaps get a laugh out of it and post it in this thread.

The use of the word 'amazing' in the description of that movie, to me, implied that the magnitude of the improvement itself was 'amazing' (in a quantitative sense), not the actual movie (which I'm aware isn't the most entertaining of movies). To me, this seems to be less of a breach of site policy than if the sentence had read something like, "This amazing movie improves the previous movie..." That's just me though.
